Boeing delivered 1st 789 for Air New Zealand:

Quote:
Boeing completes legal delivery of 787-9 to Air New Zealand

Boeing has completed the legal delivery of the first 787-9 to launch customer Air New Zealand on schedule on 30 June, the company says.

The legal milestone comes 10 days before Air New Zealand accepts the new aircraft in a ceremony at the Boeing factory in Everett, Washington, on 9 July.

The Rolls-Royce Trent 1000-powered aircraft is the first of 10 787-9s on order by the Star Alliance carrier and the first of 413 aircraft ordered overall.

The 787-9 was one of three original variants in the Dreamliner family that Boeing launched in 2003. The short-haul 787-3 was cancelled in 2008, but the 787-8 entered service in October 2011.

Boeing passed the firm configuration milestone on the 787-9 nearly four years ago in September 2010.

The first flight test aircraft achieved first flight on 17 September 2013.

Boeing delivered 15 787s in June, the biggest monthly number to date.

http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

It should be possible to repeat such large number of deliveries this month, which is needed to reach the target of 110 deliveries in 2014 after the slow 1st 5 months of the year.

Qantas delivery?....at what time was that?....I think it was the most silent delivery of a 787.
I never saw any photo of that airplane.

Jetstar = Qantas

Semantics in the Order list as Qantas assigned their 787 ordrs to Jetstar.

Aaaaahhhhh, Now I understand everything, thank you very much for your answer.

But now I have a doubt: How will look a 787 in Qantas's livery?

It would really look nice... search "Qantas A330" and you can approximate that livery on a B787 since it has similar dimensions between each other.

LN22 and LN5 undergoing re-work outside the EMC. I think both frames should be moved inside the EMC within a month.

I have a one question about B787, because I dont follow events (orders, cancels e.t.c) with B787 program: is all "terrible teens" planes are sold to new customers? Thanks in advance for answer on my question.

Out of the 13 terrible teens / prototypes that are currently in storage or currently being modified only 2 have a known customer.

LN6 (former prototype) will be a VIP jet for the Mexican government. LN11 (one of the rejected 787s) will go to Korean Air, probably also as a VIP jet.

Last year it was thought that some of these teens would go to Lion Air and Transaero, but since then it has become clear that they will not be taking them.

Btw, non of the terrible teens were not delivered because of cancellations, they were only rejected by the initial takers in favor of later built 787s with better specs.

Norwegian Air seeks to buy more Boeing 787-9s -WSJ

July 3 (Reuters) - Budget airline Norwegian Air wants to add more Boeing planes to its fleet as it looks to expand its international services, the Wall Street Journal reported the airline's chief executive as saying on Thursday.

Norwegian Air, which is principally a short-haul discount carrier, is looking to buy more than 20 787-9 Dreamliner long-haul planes for delivery after 2018, Chief Executive Bjoern Kjos told the paper in an interview.

Reuters reported in April that a delay in receiving U.S. backing for its long-haul plans had forced Norwegian Air to suspend talks to buy the 20 Dreamliners.

The additional Dreamliners would accommodate the airline's growth plans until 2022, the Journal quoted Jos as saying.

Norwegian Air and Boeing could not immediately be reached for comment.

In the interview at London's Gatwick airport, the CEO told the Journal that Gatwick would be a key part of its plans, with the carrier hoping to tap into a large network of passengers on discount short-haul airlines for its transatlantic and Asian flights.

Norwegian Air is the third-biggest budget airline by passenger numbers in Europe, trailing Ryanair and Easyjet.
