LN211 ZA740 for Azerbaijan Airlines(?). As you can see this frame has got WiFi Sat antenna installed, the same type as Qatars 787s get in Victorville. Maybe Qatar will pick up this frame?

Boeing Delivers First North American 787-9 Dreamliner to United Airlines

SEATTLE, Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE:BA) and United Airlines are celebrating the delivery of the airline's first 787-9 Dreamliner. United will become the first airline in North America to operate both the 787-8 and 787-9 variants of the Dreamliner family when the airline launches 787-9 service later this month.

"We're proud that United has become the North America launch customer for both the 787-8 and 787-9, marking another important milestone in the successful history of Boeing and United working together," said Brad McMullen, vice president of North America Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Earlier this year, United announced it will fly the airplane on what will become the longest 787 route -- nonstop service between Los Angeles and Melbourne, Australia.

The 787-9 complements and extends the 787 family. With the fuselage stretched by 20 feet (6 meters) over the 787-8, the 787-9 will fly up to 40 more passengers an additional 450 nautical miles (830 kilometers) with the same exceptional environmental performance – 20 percent less fuel use and 20 percent fewer emissions than similarly sized airplanes. The airplane leverages the visionary design of the 787-8, offering passenger-pleasing features such as large windows, large stow bins, modern LED lighting, higher humidity, a lower cabin altitude, cleaner air and a smoother ride.

United operates 11 787 Dreamliners with an additional 54 on order, including the 787-10.

Anyone have any idea when the first Jet Airways b787-9 aircraft will be loaded in to FAL ? Because Jet Airways wiki says they will get their first b787-9 in early 2015

Early 2015? No way.
Boeing filled production slots for next 12 months and there arent any 789 frames for Jet Airways. Maybe in early 2016, not 2015.

Wiki doesn't like rumors, and the rumor is that they deferred the 787 deliveries (no dates are given). Which is backed up by the upcoming production list that doesn't show any slots for Jet in the next 12 months.

Well 12 months from now would be September of 2015. If they loaded the delivery slots or FAL slots for Jet Airways from 12 months from now there would be still be time for a delivery to Jet Airways in say December of 2015. Maybe the first 787-9 for Jet Airways will be loaded at the beginning of October next year.

Grade A: 787 service reps graduate from intense Dreamliner training
By John Flick

At an airfield in Eastern Washington state, on the outskirts of a town called Moses Lake, Boeing field service representatives from around the world recently gathered for special training. Their classroom was a 787 test airplane, and their instructor was Johnny Bair, a high-energy field service representative with more than 23 years of experience at The Boeing Company.

"I'm pretty hyperactive, so I need to be moving around," Bair said half-jokingly.

Bair led a class of five employees - who hailed from Australia, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Dubai and Mexico - on a hands-on tour that covered nearly every aspect of the 787. They opened landing gear doors, took off panels to peer into the air conditioning system and watched as the dimmable windows were dismantled.

The goal is to support the mission of Boeing's Commercial Aviation Services, which is to have field service representatives in every airport that has 787s in service.

"I want them all to walk away with the most technical information they can about the 787," Bair said. "It will better prepare them to help our 787 customers."

More than 200 field service representatives have gone through the course, which lasts nearly two months. Bair was instrumental in putting together a curriculum that immerses the "students" in Dreamliner details. It includes instruction in the classroom, on the airplane and at the 787 Operations Control Center, or OCC, in Everett, Wash.

The OCC is where Boeing monitors 787s in real time as they fly, preparing customers for possible maintenance needs once the airplane lands. The representatives learn how teams collect and analyze performance data and help airlines make repairs if needed, which keep airplanes on schedule.

Bair's students said the course arms them with the in-depth information they need in order to answer customer questions and quickly access Boeing's vast resources to find a solution to any issue. In many cases, they are able to spot potential issues before they turn into problems.

"This training gave me a good feel for the airplane and the airplane architecture," said Rich Muehlenbeck, a Boeing field service team leader from Sydney, Australia. "It also taught me the language that's involved with supporting a new aircraft such as the 787."

Mohammed Albar, a Boeing representative from Saudi Arabia, said, "Now the picture is complete. I've learned so much about the 787, and that will help me give excellent support to our customer airlines."

The feedback is a bonus for Bair, who prides himself on a comprehensive course that his team members have nicknamed "Johnny Bair University."

"Passing on this information - and seeing the reps excited to learn things that will ultimately help our customers - is what it's all about," Bair said. "I love this job."

American Airline wiki shows that their first B787-8 is to be start Deliveries beginning in November 2014, and passenger flights start in the beginning of 2015 so I think Their B787 should be loaded into FAL Soon.

LN223 ZB168 N19951 2nd 789 for United in stall 119. This frame wasnt moved to the EMC, so probably Boeing dont need to re-work 789 frames from now. It's pretty good achievement if you look on 788 with 60 frames built before ending re-work/change incorporation nightmare. In 789 cause looks like 8th frame need only traveled work to be completed after FAL rollout!

LN14 inside the EMC. Still heavily stripped, it will spend probably few months more inside the EMC.

Next good news is that Boeing started to install Wi-Fi on 788 frames during final assembly process. At the photo is LN215 ZA476 A7-BCQ with additional antenna. It is 2nd 788 frame with Wi-Fi installed on the FAL, first was LN211 ZA740 for Azerbaijan Airlines.
