Something rather unusual, unfinished paint on LN226 ZA590 HS-TQC for Thai. Probably due to Etihad 789 media rush

I dont think Emirates buys any 787s ..... I think they stick to 777xs

If they do, its for the 787-10

Right now there's a fire in the 45-03 paint hangar in Everett.

https://twitter.com/mattcawby/status/517038205724807169

According to the spreadsheet from http://nyc787.blogspot.com/ the following 787 is currently being painted in this hangar:

LN228 ZA666 N781AV 787-8 Avianca

update:

it turns out it's not a fire.

"@mattcawby Update on the fire, boilers are being switched to natural gas fuel, normal operation"

A brand-new Xiamen Airlines B787 had an incident with a jet bridge at Beijing airport. Luckily only the engine cowling seems to be damaged.

Nope.
Engine's cowling was smacked by bridge during its movement.

Boeing booked the Air Berlin cancellation on both the weekly and monthly order update.

http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

And the reason why Air Berlin didn't have to pay any penalties:

Boeing also booked a new order for 15 787-9s with GE engines by an Unidentified Customer.

In other words, Air Berlin or Boeing already sold the 15 slots to another customer, at the same time upgrading the slots from the -8 to the -9.

The 787-9 has now almost surpassed the 787-8 in total orders.

787-8: 459
787-9: 456

Apparently on September 26th Boeing received an unidentified order of an unspecified number for the 787-9 there are rumours this could be Alitalia-Etihad.

That is an incredible color scheme. They should hurry and repaint the rest in the fleet.

For the first time he landed a Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Cordoba, Argentina

The CC-BBA was performing LA705 flight between Madrid and Santiago de Chile, but PARVIS beam due to unfavorable conditions in the Chilean capital, he had no choice but to go to the alternative, Cordoba airport. A historic airport to the Learned, which thus transforms into Argentina's second airport after receiving a Dreamliner Ezeiza time.

Quite a contrast with the state of the art 787 and a really old airstair truck

I hope that engine will be fixed before more problems can be seen with that aircraft later on in its life... it may be seen as bad luck, but, I truly hope Boeing and Xiamen Air can rectify that problem immediately so that it won't suffer the fate of many other aircraft that encountered problems early on.
