Yesterday, RwandAir began a new african service. During the conference, the CEO said an interesting thing about the future long haul fleet :

The surprise however was that RwandAir appears to be in talks with manufacturers about a bridging solution, to have wide bodied aircraft available ahead of the planned delivery of two Boeing B787 Dreamliners, which are expected to be around 2017.

http://www.eturbonews.com/55039/rwan...rofessional%29

So does it mean that RwandAir will lease a 767 or 757 or why not an A330, before the arrival of the 787 ?

Or finally they will take delivery of one of early built 787s. In 2013, there were rumors saying that they were planned to get two former RAM 787s LN17 and LN19, with a delivery in 2015.

It's quite hard sometines to follow RwandAir, one day it's blue and the other it's green

Interesting that they will order just 3, there could also be a couple conversions from the 787-9 as well, or we will see some more smaller top-up orders for the 787-10 over the next couple of years.

I wonder if they will use the 787-10 for international routes or if they will replace the domestic 777-300s. Although I don't think the 787-10 will be able to have 514 seats, a max seat count of 450 sounds more reasonable. If ANA doesn't need a 1 on 1 replacement, the 787-10 might be the aircraft to replace those 777s. And since they only have 7 domestic 777-300s they also won't need a large number of 787-10s anyway.

They are installing flaps on LN14's wings and elevators on horizontal stabilizer. Engines will be next.

Work on LN11 isn't normal work on windshield. This "tent" means that they are installing something new, maybe military equipment.
---

patel2897, still not on production list what means that their first 789 won't be build till March 2016.

NEW DELHI: Air India is in talks with Boeing to replace part of the 787-800 Dreamliners it has ordered with a bigger version of the aircraft, executives at the national carrier and the US aircraft manufacturer said.

Air India has already received 18 of the 27 Boeing 787-800 Dreamliners it had ordered and three more are scheduled to be delivered through June this year. That means, the option to convert to the 787-900s, which can carry more people and travel farther, is limited to the to the remaining half a dozen planes. "We might convert at least three of our Boeing 787-800 to Boeing 787-900," an Air India official said. Boeing confirmed the move.

"I can confirm to you that we are in discussions with Air India on replacing a part of our order with the 787-900s, which are bigger in terms of seating capacity and can fly longer than 787-800s," the plane maker's senior vice president for Asia Pacific and India sales, Dinesh Keskar, told ET. Of course. Engines can be attached even after re-work. But installation of flaps etc. means that re-work is in last phase, problably most work "under skin" of frame is completed.

We introduced our first Boeing 787 Dreamliner today. The first flight from Abu Dhabi to Dusseldorf landed early this morning.
Take a look inside of our beautiful new aircraft.
