Maybe for registration painting? I don't think that they will apply full paint scheme now.

Only the back half is in the paint hanger and has air stairs at it. So most likely touching up the tail, etc.

Looks like they took the rudder off to re-balance it.

The Etihad livery is stunning !!! Thx for pics

Published in August 2011

Rwandan flag carrier RwandAir is in negotiations with Boeing to purchase up to five more Boeing 737-800s, and potentially secure a lease of long-range 787-8 or -9 aircraft by 2016, airline CEO John Mirenge said.

The airline's near-term fleet planning has it taking delivery of two 154-seat 737-800s by the end of October, while Mirenge said for RwandAir's longer-term expansion it aims to operate 12 aircraft by 2016.

http://www.flightglobal.com/news/art...leases-361367/

Old article, sorry, but i didn't have the pro version . With all informations that i read since the beginning of the 2015, this scenario looks to be quite feasible.

The leasing of a 787 is probably better for the airline, i think they can do a good deal with early built 787s. The 787-9 is too big for the Rwandan market, i think.

About the 737, they are currently leasing two ex 7 years old Air Berlin 737-700s, since 2013, and they will add a 3rd 737-800 this year. The orders for 2 CRJ-900NGs and 2 Q400NGs were not yet finalized, when this article was published.

By 2016, RwandAir will have 10 aircraft (if we add the 787), not bad....for the Rwandan scale lol.

They are still doing something... IIRC they had similar problems around ruder and elevators before first flight of LN7 ZA100 JA803A.

Also, LN264 ZA784 XA-AMR is in Everett Delivery Center.

On the subject of the 787, why is the aircraft fitted with what appear to be on/off navigation lights, as opposed to the traditional strobes?

Easy, reduce maintenance costs. The new led lights fitted to next generation aircraft have longer life span therefore reduces burnt out lights which then require replacing.

Do you mean white pulsating lights?
They are new, hi-tech version of the previously used strobes proved to emit more light, hence be more visible in the air than the traditional strobes.
You can see the aircraft from much further in fact flying at night.

Cheers
