I have just read this. No yet confirmed

Air Austral orders 2 "Terrible Teen" 787-8

According to sources, Boring will deliver LN 15 and LN 22 to Air Austral, the French holiday carrier.

http://nyc787.blogspot.fr/2015/02/ai...een-787-8.html

It seems that they will use by LAM Airlines (Mozambique), on the Maputo - Lisbon route. The airline is currently banned from UE.

[QUOTE=Woodys Aeroimages;121624869]Some Updates on the flight line.

A7-BCS Qatar LN 261 was delivered last night and moved to the Fuel Dock for short term storage at Qatar's request.

Very nice Woody, thanks a lot!
Apparently 5 more to come this year.

[QUOTE=Benn;121595483]I'm not sure if anyone else will adopt this particular type on 787's in the near future:

-JAL, Korean Air and Oman Air are all installing Apex seats across their longhaul fleets.

- Air Canada, Delta, Air France Qatar, Vietnam Airlines, and Avianca are all going reverse herringbone on their 787's and I can't imagine any of them will introduce a new product for quite some time.

-Air New Zealand and Virgin Atlantic are pretty deadset on herringbone seats for everything.

-Etihad has their new forward/backwards staggered seat like on their a380s

-While British Airways certainly needs to redesign their business class product, they seem to be heading more in a herringbone direction by all accounts.

-The other customers with orders seem likely to go for an off the shelf product (Thompson Vantage XL, B/E Diamond etc, Zodiac Aura etc), rather than go the custom route like American.

Herringbone arrangement seems to be the choice for now and the future as it offers unprecedented privacy for business class passengers.
There were numerous satisfaction polls among passengers with those specific questions regarding the seating setup and herringbone arrangement has been quoted as one of the competitive advantages of the airline in the example. MAny more types follow this trend - A350, A380.

Thanks
Dom

I have been told that some of the 787-9s coming this and next year to Etihad would be in the 80-seat business class configuration.

Very interesting indeed and seems very bold in terms of the business model.

Cheers

So engines will be GEnx-1B, probably. They have 777 fleet with GE90 and 737-800 with CFMI, going for GE is rather logical.

When will AA get their 2nd and 3rd 788? Late February or early Mars?
One is undergoing test flights but what is the status of the third?

Air India grounded 787 VT-ANK

As reported in Bangalore Aviation :
It is like a non-stop litany. Another Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner has been grounded. This time VT-ANK is AOG (aircraft on ground) since February 6, 2015, 10 days ago when it last operated flight AI-113 from New Delhi to Birmingham, UK.
As per sources, the grounding was caused due to a fault in the C-duct section of the engine thrust reverser on its GE GEnx engine. The fault happened due to an inspection plug not being fitted correctly by Air India’s engineering personnel.
We are given to understand that a thrust reverser is being obtained from United Technologies Aerospace Systems as a replacement. The reason for the delay could be the airline’s well known financial problems.

Also LN 11 will fly any day now. Has been scheduled everyday since Friday, but keeps getting scrubbed.
