And the availability is probably better then the 787-9, which is also sold out beyond 2018, with just some slots left from leasing companies.
I also wonder did Air Tahiti Nui chose the 787-9 because the A330-800neo was too small and A350XWB-900 was too large for the airline? The 787-9 may have enough range to fly PPT-NRT non-stop year-round and have the right pax/cargo capacity for what the airline wants.

We can always count on JAL to give a wing wave. Haven't disappointed yet.

It's painted. Just couldn't grab a clear shot of it with Air China's 747 in the way.

Boeing delivered 12 787s in February, totaling 19 so far this year. They also rolled out 19 787s from the assembly lines this year so far, it's a 1 on 1 ratio. They have to do deliver more to reduce the delivery back-log on the flight lines in Everett and Charleston. But with 6 787s that have already flown, and 6 more that are already painted on the Everett flight line, it won't be to difficult for Boeing to top the 12 deliveries in March.

And with no 787s going from the FAL to the EMC anymore the rework team will also have more time to work on getting the 3 787-9 prototypes ready for delivery to JAL and Air New Zealand and of of course also to work on the terrible teens.

Don't forget that the EMC is also being used for the KC46 tanker (B767), so space will still be at a premium.

Boeing is building a new 39,000 sq ft hanger at EMC.

Boeing, Bulgaria Air committed to order two 787-8 Dreamliners

Boeing (NYSE: BA) is pleased that Bulgaria Air has announced a commitment to purchase two 787-8 Dreamliners. The order, valued at $514 million at current list prices, will be posted on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website when finalized.

“Boeing is honored to start this new partnership with Bulgaria Air,” said Tom Nelp, senior vice president of European Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “The 787-8 will provide Bulgaria Air with superior performance, range capabilities and economics, while its passengers will enjoy the Dreamliner’s unique features such as higher humidity, lower cabin altitude and the largest windows of any current commercial airplane, providing a commanding view of the horizon above beautiful Bulgaria throughout the airplane.”

Bulgaria Air, the flag carrier of Bulgaria, with its head office in Sofia and operates from Sofia Airport, where as Burgas Airport and Varna Airport are two secondary hubs.

PiotrG, do not trust a word this Jaja Delera says. He is just an unemployed internet troll, whose only joy in life seems to be making up lies about airlines (including Bulgaria Air). According to him, the BG Air has ordered many more types of aircraft, not only the 787-8, which again is an absolute lie, i can assure you.

Confirmed it is LN 283 in AW at EMC.

Bulgaria Air is more of a point to point passenger airline. I don't see the feed to support the 787 operations. Having just two airframes can't help it either.
