If you will be able, please catch which engines type will arive for LN14. I still do believe that pylons were changed to GEnx.

It will mean that they will also be able to build the 787-10 in Everett and not just in Charleston where the mid sections for all types are produced.
I don't see the benefit of flexibility outweighing the cost for new Dreamlifters. The program is still burning cash and North Charleston production is moving along fine, and at a lower labor cost. By the time the -10 is ready for production, North Charleston will probably reconfigure and have two lines running side by side from what I've heard.

Boeing might look beyond 2020, when the bulk of 787s delivered might be the 787-10. Right now it hasn't got too many orders, but that's mainly because of availability. Then it would be very useful to have all assembly lines 787-10 ready.

Boeing, TUI Group Finalize Order for 787-9 Dreamliner

Leisure group places order for one 787-9, substitutes two 787-8s for 787-9s

SEATTLE, May 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) and TUI Group, one of the world's largest integrated leisure travel companies, have finalized an order for one 787-9 Dreamliner with an option for one further 787-9. The order is valued at $257 million at current list prices. TUI Group also announced that it will substitute two unfilled orders for 787-8s for two 787-9s.

The European leisure group will operate a fleet of 13 787-8s from this summer and with today's announcement will add three 787-9s to its fleet within the next three years.

"Adding the 787-9 to our order book enables TUI Group's airlines to continue to develop its long-haul network, giving access to new and exciting leisure destinations for our customers," said Henrik Homann, TUI Group's Managing Director Aviation. "The Dreamliner has proved very popular with our passengers and we want to ensure that every passenger starts their holiday in the best possible way with an exceptional flying experience."

The 787-9 complements and extends the 787 family. With the fuselage stretched by 6 meters (20 feet) over the 787-8, the 787-9 will fly up to 40 more passengers an additional 830 kilometers (450 nautical miles) with the same exceptional environmental performance – 20 percent less fuel use and 20 percent fewer emissions than the airplanes they replace.

"This new and revised order is testament to the value that the Dreamliner family offers in meeting TUI Group's operational and environmental goals, while at the same time providing an unrivalled on-board experience for its passengers," said Todd Nelp, vice president of European Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

And few informations from order book.

Air Canada converted their remained 787-8s to 787-9s, bringing order to 8 787-8s (all already delivered) and 29 787-9s. Also, they have options for 23 more 787s, types unspecified.

LAN confirmed 4 787-8s to 787-9s order convert.

Boeing 787-9 orders are now over 500, but it's still unconfirmed on Boeing website.

So much nicer than the almost all white liveries on most airlines. This is one of my favorites

New user here. They're going to be fitted with RR engines. The pylons will not be changing from RR to GE.

I really like that Vietnam Airlines livery. It looks really beautiful on their new planes (787 and A350).

Gotta say the new colors for Vietnam Airlines look amazing on the 787. Cant wait to see it next to the A350 and see how both of them look together.

Delta's CEO has for the 1st time openly spoken about the 787 order after the large Airbus A330 and A350 order last year.

http://bigstory.ap.org/article/b62a8...-delays-summer

Quote:
Anderson is eyeballing the 787-10, which isn't yet in production. Delta is under contract for 18 Boeing 787-8s, the smallest Dreamliner variant, but Anderson prefers the stretched version. Granted, he isn't willing to commit — at least publicly — just yet.

"As always, we would see what Airbus is offering, with the A350-10, but I do think (the 787-10) should be an airplane that is one day in the Delta fleet."
It's likely that they will keep the 787 order to be converted to the 787-10 later on. I don't think we can expect the deliveries to take place before 2020.
