There is only one directly ordered frame for KLM/Air France on firing order:
LN422 ZB302 PH-BHG 787-9

all others are leases from AerCap.

OK, someone finally said it. I am a Star Wars fan and I approve that comment.

It looks like the front end caught fire and panels are missing from the nose. And why is R2D2 flying head first?

It would have been nice to have R2D2 with its head poking out as the dorsal antenna dome in the middle of the fuselage. That is where R2D2 sits in a X-Wing Starfighter. http://img.lum.dolimg.com/v1/images/...C864&width=768

As a big star wars fan myself i am, I disapprove of the new R2-D2 livery. I think ANA could have done more with a special livery on a 787.

United announced today that they will begin SFO-TLV-SFO and SFO-AKL-SFO on 787-9s early next year. This is comes on the heels of SFO-XIY-SFO being announced on a 787-8 earlier this year. I think United has found a good spot to use the 787.

Spoke with a KLM employee today with direct knowledge of internal memos regarding the Air France 787's. They are not cancelling them, but deferring them until 2017.

Correct. Their first 789 is scheduled to be delivered November/December 2016, so entry into service won't happen before 2017.

I believe it's because it's flying empty and light it can go a bit higher. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

43,000ft is standard cruising altitude for the B787 empty or not.

Find attached a few examples...
