It looks like most of the "terrible teens" will be delivered to various customers by the early 2017. That should free up space at Paine Field (Snohomish County Airport) for accelerated 787 production and by 2020 production and deliveries of the 777-8/777-9 models.

Rework of the early 787s done at the EMC, Everett Modification Center, it doesn't conflict with the production of new 787s. The freed up space in the EMC will be used for the standard post assembly modification on the 767 based KC-46 Tankers. The 777X will 1st be assembled in the hall that was used as the 787 surge line. Later the 777X assembly will be integrated into the current 777 Line.

The rate increases in the 787 program will all be achieved by speeding up the Charleston, SC assembly line. The main benefit for Boeing is that it will have a positive effect on the 787 program accounting, less costs and some income.

in other news.

Ethiopian 787 ET-ASH has a little mishap in Addis Ababa yesterday as it retracted the nose gear at the gate when it was about to be pushed back for a flight to Rome.

Speaking of which, have they started assembling the parts for MSN 528, the first 787-10? I believe the assemblies for that plane will be arriving at Boeing's South Carolina plant later this year for a rollout in 2017.

Delayed probably due to repaint of many parts which are normally painted before assembly. Photos suggest that even background protective layer had to be stripped on the wings and wingbox.

LN12 ZD004 for Ethiopian was moved from EMC to 40-24 building. Boeing is clearly preparing EMC for KC-46A production frames re-work and militarization.

LN14 as seen today.

and another shot off LN13 after they moved 12 out of the way today.

They now have 3 empty bays at EMC for the last 3 remaining teens on RWY 11/29, which needs to be cleared by month end.

LN 15 is at EMC outside in Position E2 with rework scaffolding up around it now. LN 18 will most likely join LN 15 outside EMC.

Any idea when these 3 remaining teens will be moved to re-work?
LN5 is scheduled for delivery in 2018 and had to be reworked inside hangar, so I expect few months more of storage.

They should be moved in the next 3 weeks. Boeing has to give that runway back by month end.
