United has announced that they have converted some post 2020 delivery slots (probably 787-10's) into 4 777-300ERs and 5 787-9s with 2017 delivery slots.

http://newsroom.united.com/index.php...95&item=124646

United has always been very flexible with their 787 orders, earlier they converted 10 early delivery slots to the initial order for 10 777-300ERs. The last change was in December when they did cancel 1 787-10s. Boeing has used these cancellations to open up new delivery slots for new orders like the 2015 Hainan & Xiamen 787-9 orders with 2016 delivery slots.

On Uresh's production sheet there was already 1 787-9 listed for United then they had on order, this deal has already been in the works for some time.

Like I said earlier, it appears Boeing wants those "terrible teens" to be fixed up and delivered by the end of the year, since they need the space for 787 production, KC-46A production and by 2018 777-8/777-9 production.

They won't re-work all of them this year, it's impossible.

This year deliveries:
LN22
LN12
LN14
LN13
LN15
LN17

2017:
LN10
LN16
LN18
LN19

2018:
LN5
LN4

last terrible teen should complete re-work around June/July 2017, but LN5 should be complete 1Q2018, and LN4 June/July 2018.

Considering that the 2 787s that are now in the 40-24 are next in line for delivery it looks like the 40-24 (former surge line, future 777X start-up production line) will be used for the final rework now the EMC is being set up for the KC-46 work.

Looking at the tentative delivery dates it should also not take that long before they will roll out to the flight line.

It's also about time that these ones are getting ready for delivery, Boeing has been working on them long enough by now.

LN14 is undergoing re-work since July 2013, but process has been interrupted many times due to various circumstances.

Really? That runway hasnt had any use in like the last 7-8 years. Is it that bad of shape? Do they plan on opening that runway for use after the reconstruction?

It's the matter of law and procedures. The runway pavement have to be strong enough with parameters up to date with re-opening after years.

It's the crosswind runway for small general aviation that normally use the small 16L / 34R runway (The main runway is the 16R / 34L).

So yes, it will be used again once it's reopened after the rehab, but only during crosswind situation.

And it's probably in a bad shape, if you read stories about the surfaces of some of the spots where planes where parked for a couple of days after the 09/11 groundings you can imagine how bumpy the surface must be after years of storing 787 on this runway.
