Can anyone confirm if LN 551 and LN 566 have been contractually delivered? These two are going to Saudi Arabian.

Is there not a bit of a general pileup of Saudi wides awaiting delivery when the new terminal in Jeddah opens next year?? Delayed from a planned opening around now.

http://www.arabnews.com/node/1093091...laziz-airport#

Both Etihad and Saudi were supposed to have shiny new superterminals around about now but both are delayed, Etihads midfield until late 2019 for reasons not disclosed but probably a faulty roof. Jeddahs probably because the Saudis won't pay for it in time.

Meanwhile neither airline has anywhere to put a/c on order.

Deliveries of 787-9s ordered by the Saudi Ministry of Finance are being delayed by the customer (not a Boeing issue). Reason is unknown. Etihad conntinues to take delivery of their 787s.

It is a Saudi issue, cash crunch and delays to Jeddah terminal (or both together).

LN19 ZD012 (formerly ZA151 CN-RGC for RAM) finished re-work. It's the end of terrible teens story.

You are right. It will take some time before her delivery.

That hasn't stopped Saudi Arabian from taking deliveries of 777 and 787s in the last few weeks.

Is there really anything to see here?

This kind of delays happen all the time. Unless we start to see these Saudi Ministry of Finance frames go into long time storage it's just nothing more then small adjustments to the original delivery schedule.

Hardly a "small adjustment" when HZ-AR11 delivered on March 31 but is still at CHS and we're now into June.

And this never happens with 737s?

Then you hear nobody coming up with 'grand' reasons why a delivery doesn't take place. Again, if they are not sent to the US desert instead of the Arabian desert there's nothing happening.

As a general rule it only happens with the 737s if they're Chinese (allegedly due to CAAC restricting the flow of new metal to non-government owned Chinese airlines) and/or pilot shortages. As pointed out by someone above, Saudia has been taking their direct 777 and 787 orders without any delay. I don't see any other 787-9 orders that could fit the March 31 contractual delivery date if it isn't HZ-AR11, therefore it is rather puzzling why Saudia is not flying them home.
