LOT's 787 newairplane.com subsite appears, unfortunetlny as yet almost blank.
http://www.newairplane.com/787/deliv...#/en/lot/home/

I thinks ANA will take delivery of one 787 (LN83) in November, and one (LN59) in December. Boeing cut off number of test flights for airframes which don't need rework, so delivery of LN83 could be faster than LN59.

Qatar's delivery ceremony also took place yesterday, here's a picture of the cutting of the ribbon.

"Celebrating the official handover to Qatar Airways of its first 787 Dreamliner in Seattle are, from right: Qatar’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al-Rumaihi; Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker; and Boeing Commercial President and CEO Ray Conner. Photo from Qatar Airways."
http://www.airlinereporter.com/2012/...livery-flight/

They have 30 787-8s on order plus another 30 options. But mr. Al Baker has said that they have conversion rights to the 787-9 and the 787-10, so we can expect some changes to the order in the future. He explicitly expressed his interest in the 787-10, praising it as "one of the best seat-mile costs of any airliner" based on the Boeing sales talk.

more info on what Al Baker said and the 787-10:
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/art...-baker-378899/

Qatar will start flying the 787 on 20 November with up to 4 flights between Qatar and Dubai a day. From December it should be used on the Qatar - London route. The 3rd contractual delivery to Qatar should happen next week.

LN79 B-2730 goes into storage on south ramp too. This is 4th plane there. And 3 for Hainan are in FAL, 2 for China Southern are going to FAL in 2 next weeks, and third in January 2013. If delivery situation won't be cleared, then till the end of January Boeing will be storaging 10 airplanes for chinese airlines.
Deliveries for Air India are rather difficult too. 2 airplanes are ready for delivery (LN54&LN60), 1 is in pre-flight preparations, 1 in flight tests and 2 in FAL. 6 airplanes should be ready for delivery till the end of December 2012. I don't count 2 airframes in EMC, they need time to rework, so VT-ANG will be propably rolled out around March and VT-ANE even in April or May.
That gives 16 ready airplanes in storage, big backlog.
I'm waiting for next LN order update, I'm very curious how Boeing solve this difficult situation.

Likewise Piotr I hope they give the next 10 positions to airlines that actually plan to take delivery of the planes.

Landing in Warsaw.

LOT can actually be considered as 1 of the "problem" airlines. As the schedule now stands they will take the 2nd one in January and then 1 per month until the 5th is delivered in April. But all of these frames are already completed or currently on the FAL. So some of those will also have be temporary stored somewhere in Everett unless LOT decides to take delivery faster.

Deliveries schedule for LOT was set in late 2011, before SP-LRA went into production. I don't know why Boeing push up production of planes 2-5 for LOT so fast. LOT has secured financing for 5 B788 and probably is able to take deliveries faster, but this could be unprofitable. LOT set B767 retiring shedule, and faster delivered B788 would be stored in Warsaw. It's small airline in restructurisation process, so they don't want make any more losses.

that LOT 787 looks so sleek and sexy indeed. I would just love to ride on that plane when I fly to Warsaw.

LN45 for United is on the flightline, rework complete. So only 1 more plane (LN52) and change incorporation program of very-late build frames will be complete.

LN92, first for Thomson is now in FAL. LN84 for Japan Airlines should be pulled out from FAL in few days. LN21 for JAL was moved from Surge Line Position 4 to EMC Bay D.

Good news from the order front.

2 new orders have been added to the backlog and 1 unidentified order was announced.

new orders
Business Jet / VIP Customer(s): 1
Unidentified Customer(s): 5

identified:
Avianca: 3
http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

Avianca already had 12 787-8 on order, the 3 will bring this to 15. This order was placed on September 28. And where the 3 for Avianca can be stripped of the list of Unidentified Customer(s) a new order of 5 can be added. We have to until it's identified if it's an order for a new airline or a top-up order.

The order for 1 BBJ will bring the total 787 BBJs ordered to 6.

These orders bring the total backlog to 844 and this years net orders to -16.

Boeing press release for Avianca:

Cathay mulls 787-10 to replace A330s

Cathay Pacific will consider the Boeing 787-10 as a replacement for its Airbus A330-300s that it uses on regional and medium-haul routes.

Boeing "is talking" to potential customers about the aircraft and Hong Kong's flag carrier will consider the largest 787 variant if it fits its requirements, says Cathay's chief executive John Slosar.

"We use the A330s on a lot of regional routes and they are fantastic for us, and there really is still a market for the A330s and possibly even the older [Boeing] 777s," says Slosar.

"But the 787-10 could be interesting. In a way, it will depend on where Boeing go with it. It will be something that will not have the range of the 787-9, but it would be an A330 plus with range and really superior economics. And we would consider the aircraft if we thought that it would fit."

Slosar declines to say when Cathay could make a decision or how many aircraft the carrier will need if it decides to go ahead and order the 787-10. He adds that those decisions are still some way off.

The Oneworld alliance member has 34 A330s in its fleet and another 15 on order, according to Flightglobal Pro data.

I'm really curious of these BBJ. Maybe Boeing sell them test frames, or some of terrible teens.
Boeing sold all test 747-8, so maybe will be trying to find owners of test 787. These planes are near 10t overveight and sale to airlines will be difficult. LN4-7 officially are for sale, but situation with LN1-3 is uncertain.

There are 3 787-8 BBJs on order, that could be the LN4 to LN6 (the LN7 is delivered to ANA).

The LN 1 to 3 will never be delivered, I believe that 1 or 2 of them will actually go to museums. The problem with these 3 is that they too different from the later regular production 787s. They have been taken apart and reassembled several times to test different parts. They might never be certified for commercial flights because of this, making it impossible to sell them.
