Boeing is delivering B787s like hot cakes... Can't wait to see the next NEW customer B787... I believe the 1st B787 destine for JQ has entered production...

Ah sweet! Would that mean it will replace the A330s in its fleet?

That's the plan enabling QF to retire the aged B763 fleet once the A330s are returned from JQ...

That would be fun to watch. I then wonder if the B787s will also be used to operate long-haul flights for JQ... It currently operates flights between the Gold Coast and Japan, as well as destinations in Thailand, Vietnam, and Hawaii.

JetStar operate to a number of international destinations direct from Australia... Hawaii, Tokyo & Osaka Japan, Bali & Jakarta Indonesia, Phuket & Bangkok Thailand (operated by A330's)... There are plans to operate to Athens, Greece & Milan, Italy once the B787's come online...
I've only mentioned services operated by JetStar from Australia, they also operate Singapore to Auckland utilizing A330's...
The Vietnam and Malaysia routes are operated by JetStar Asia...

Ah ok. Thanks for the clarification! Singapore to Auckland on an A330 seems to be a bit cramped, isn't it? Imagine flying in one for like 10 hours on a (narrow) wide body... I'd prefer SQ on that route over JQ.

From memory the A330s are in 36J265Y configuration... This will enable a smoother transition from JQ to QF mainline...
I'm not sure if the B787s are to adopt the same configure...
As for choice of carriers I like to stick with full service over low cost budget...

Now that's really good news for Boeing as it has exceeded its delivery target for 2012 for the 787.

And Boeing also released the official final numbers for the 787 in 2012.

Gross Orders: 50
Net Orders: -12
Deliveries: 46
Unfilled orders: 799
http://boeing.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=2552

In the last order report the 6 for Aeromexico where added and there was 1 cancellation.

If 1 of the 2 big cancellations wouldn't have happened the net total orders would have been positive. With with 50 new orders it does show that it's still selling, this is actually highest number since 2008.

Great pics! Looking forward to AM operating its 787s, and LAN operating to more airports in the US.

Looks much more modern than its B763s or A340s. Definitely a sign of progress in aviation indeed.
