That's why it's massing. Quite tall though.

The sites for 15 E 30th (mid-block on the north side) and 281 5th can both be seen in this photo. Demo permits have been filed for both, but there's no action yet.

Hopefully, two awesome 900 footers will rise here. HFZ's W 30 St project is basically across the street from here .

I'll of a jig when this POS is replaced by a 900 footer!

Today

This was on the DOB's site today.

375k sf is A LOT for this small site.

375k SF?

It could hardly be over 500 feet, hope the design is amazing.

375k sf is a lot for a residential tower on a small plot. The DOB lists it at 785', but Yimby thinks it will break 900'.

Waiting for Godot!

30th St is seeing a lot of action. The Coach Tower can be seen in the distance, as well ad Durst's 855 6th. The Virgin Hotel site and 281 5th also can be seen with, of course, 15 E 30th.

It seems to be only 50ft wide. That is very slim.

Hipefully, something worthy of its gorgeous neighbors will rise here.

Here's an example of the mouthwatering buildings nearby.

[QUOTE=LondoniumLex;117313805]I hope that the developer acquires this eyesore, which is on Madison and is adjacent to 15 E. 30th.

I am fairly sure that this nice (albeit dilapidated) building on E 30th is part of the site. It has been vacant for quite some time .

/QUOTE]

They need to acquire that POS on the corner of 30th and Madison.

Funny you mention it cuz maybe JD just purchased it. (30th and Madison)

JD Carlisle pays $102M for NoMad development site Developer already filed plans to build a resi tower at 15 East 30th Street
http://therealdeal.com/blog/2015/03/....jHEAUuEa.dpuf

Quote:
J.D. Carlisle Development bought a site at East 30th Street and Madison Avenue where it is planning to build a 53-story residential building for $102 million, according to property records filed with the city today.

Carlisle is reportedly planning to build a 370,000-square-foot, block-through tower that will hold 188 units at 15 East 30th Street. The developer filed plans for the project last fall.

Longtime owner Rabina Properties, a Scarsdale-based developer and management company, is the seller.

A representative from J.D. Carlisle could not immediately be reached on Tuesday afternoon. The firm is also building a new residential tower at nearby 160 Madison Avenue.
I'm really excited about this development. Looking forward for some renderings.

I wish, VG. That appears to be sloppy reporting by TRD. As per Acris, 15 E 30th sold for $120m. I suspect that they meant No. 15, when they referred to the building on30th and Madison.

There's hope for a larger site though bec JD also bought 126 Madison and 132. It seems that the developer needs to get the Bella Napoli building at 130 Madison.

This site consists of several buildings that the developer owns, including this nice little one on the corner of Madison and 31st, together with some others on Madison.

I suspect that the developer is trying to acquire a few more on Madison, and I speculate that the main entrance will be on Madison.

In January of 2015, the developer acquired 126 Madison Ave. The developer does not own the contiguous, twin structure, 128 Madison, which houses the filthy deli. The developer also does not own 130 Madison. Presumably, JD Carlisle is trying to get 128 and possibly 130. I assume that it wants an entrance on Madison.

The RealDeal reported that the developer acquired the nice corner building, 132 Madison. However, ACRIS says otherwise. Indeed, as per ACRIS, the developer, by an agreement dated 16 January 2015, acquired unspecified development rights. I can't open the doc on my phone, but it's presumably an air rights transfer.

In January of 2015, the developers acquired these nice buildings, Nos. 20 and 22 E 31st St. These buildings are both empty. It would be nice if they are preserved and somehow incorporated into the new building, but I'm sure they will be razed.

It appears that the tower will run from 30th to 31st Streets, and the entrances will probably be on Madison and On 31st.

132 Madison is the nice townhouse with the black cornice, and it's located on the southwest corner of Madison and 31st St.

130 Madson is the brick building just to the south of 132.

126 and 128 are the filthy brownish brick buildings just to the south of 130.

20 and 22 E 31St are both shown below.
