They built those huge cavernous cathedrals in Europe hundreds of years ago for the same reason they build these today. To impose.

It just happens that today's engineering methods allow the ornate, expensive building next to Islam's holy site to be 600 metres tall. Either way, it seems the religious men of power have a sort of tradition to go for the biggest building they could feasibly build with their money, no matter what century it is.

Don't forget the religion of scientific atheism in Communist countries - their temples were meant to do the same thing. And in some cases they were even larger and more imposing than any church building.
Cathedrals were also meant to ascend to the heavens, no just to impose.

You mean the religion of worshipping the Dear Leader and executing the ones who said heresy against them?

Is there a problem with funding? What is the progress for the site?

Aww... nothing will happen on the site for half a year? Or is that eight months?

Either way, good to see the world still exists come September, though!

There is no such thing as an end to critical thinking and inquiry. History bears witness to that fact through numerous revolts and revolutions.

The struggle between the oppressors and the oppressed.

You can't kill an idea.

So will only Muslim construction workers be allowed to be abused, I mean to work, in building this complex?

No one knows if it even really started yet, there's nothing that looks like the construction of supertalls in any picture.

Last update.. from the future.. lol

Anyway, every time I see a birds-eye view of the whole project I always try to spot a square shape for the construction of the minarets but never seem to find one... at least not yet anyway

Questions over questions...perhaps this update will clarify whether the supertall minaretes
are already under construction. If not enjoy it nonetheless
