Now korea government and president of korea try to approved OPEN casino.
Now is a period of transition.
Are u sure that SANDS is fools? They know SKOREA follow same path singapore what did about open casino.
So that result is Seoul suggestion.
Seoul mayor's first jobs is not politician but got a chance for prosperity of seoul!
He kicking out chance because that man is belongs to "opposite party". Seoul SANDS kicking was political action! If city treat as political stuff then city's future is the end!
Seoul is global city! Leader must Thinking with global standard!

Sooner or later not only BUSAN but also yeongjongdo/songdo even saemangum and jeju etc all around korea will have casino! Why not Seoul? SEOUL is A holies of holy place sanctum? So kicking out $10 billions? LOL
Remember why we talking about casino problem. that is because this HYUNDAI 571M project got in trouble due to seoul mayor's kicking sands's suggestion.
U read above news article!
So, despite my doubts aboutthe usefullness of even starting to argue with inno4321 -because he's irrespecful, and bullies people without feeling the need to make any sense- I'll just quote the very same article mentioned :

"The complex will house a foreigner-only casino, as well as a hotel, shopping mall, convention center and other entertainment facilities. The initial phase is expected to be finished by 2018 at a cost of 740 billion won ($691 million). "
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news...23_153491.html

Again, all the other, smaller-scale, casino projects are targeted towards foreigners and do not factor the Korean government allowing koreans in casino in the business plan. Sands, on the other plan, took a different approach and tried to lobby for deregulation. An approach that can work (i.e. Marina Bay), but the Korean governments is still very lukewarm about it.

There's a difference between a medium-scale foreigner-only casino on an airport with hug international passenger traffic, and building a huge foreigner-only casino in a part of Seoul where foreigners don't really go.

So unless the government changes its stance on allowing koreans into casinos (which, in all fairness, might actually happen in the coming years), there is little rationale for building such a big complex in Songpa-gu.

Now, as was the case with knowledgeable, polite and intelligent members such as aquaticko and humptydumpty, let's all enjoy inno's next post, a long one, full of bold texts in all caps with big fonts, with at least 3 mentions of Seoul's mayor preceded by the word "monkey" or "stupid f***ng", while insulting me in the process, pointing to my (absolutely untrue) support for Seoul mayor or my lack of korean language knowledge as proof of his superiority...

yeongjong casino is a foreigner only casino! those are good because they bring money from foreign tourists.
Korean government wants this. Of course!

But Sands wants foreigners and korean citizens in their casino because Koreans gamble more.
If Sands is allowed to open for Koreans, then all 17 casinos will demand to allow Korean citizens. = problem!

You can't compare foreigner only casinos with Sands' very special idea to open for Korean citizens.

So in conclusion the Olympic stadium grounds is being left alone?

I hope the government maintains its current stance on urban casinos - look at what they did for Atlantic City and countless other examples!

Read closer. The shown design is meaningless, we'll probably see a new design.

Skorea Top tallest 571m landmark ...Seoul skyline is going to forever changed!
16M TALLER THAN Lotte SEOUL tower....62FL hotel&convention center&theater too
Also in front the COEX underground space complex develop plan too

Most prominent point, which Final suggestion by HYUNDAI to Seoul, is 115fl 571m tower!
If HYUNDAI GBC is completion at 2020 then it will be tallest building in skorea.
Lotte tower will be behind HYUNDAI TOWER when it completion. GBC have a best place for deserved World class landmark.
This place much more ideal place for business and tour than 600m yongsan IBD/sangam DMC of seoul.

"GTX(high speed bullet rail) and KTX + WERAE~SHINSA ETC total 8 rail system will be arranged At YONGDUNGDARRO underground which are located in between SAMSEONG station and byongeunsa station . Therefore wherever Seoul within 1 hour can approach from GBC" real estate concern say

Also GBC have strong point compare with LWT Whichmeans around LWT is normal residence area but around GBC area is one of most prominent commercial and business area in Skorea peninsula

HYUNDAI is going to built 62 fl theater and hotel convention center follow Seoul's International communication and fellowship district plan.
Also have a plan to make huge commercial complex for HYUNDAI employees and tourist can use. Furthermore COEX~YONGDUNGDARO(ROAD)~GBC connected underground space development project too

At 23 afternoon first meeting held between Seoul(who have approved right) and HYUNDAI concerns
Mr Lee je won of seoul city redevelop division director and Mr kim in su of vice president HYUNDAI construction company was participated on the Pre-negotiation!

HYUNDAI decision to pay about $2 billions(1조 7030억원) with cash.
This cash donation money is 3000~4000억원($ 280 millions USD) more donated than Seoul government's first expect amount that around 1조 3천억원!

Also official HYUNDAI calculate about $ 4 billions does it cost to build 571M

So in short official HYUNDAI calculate cost below
-land buying price was $11 billions
-donation $ 2 billions
-construction cost $ 4 billions

total HYUNDAI&KIA head office project cost is $ 17 billions USD

One thing is for sure: after this project is completed, and it stands so close to the equally-towering LWT, Seoul will probably have among the most recognizable skylines in the world.

not really, just 2 tall towers don't make it one of the best skylines on the world.
