I think it has more to do with the lighting on the glass.

Why in Australia skyscraper construction, the core is always many floors ahead of the floor slabs?

It isn't always the case but I think in this particular instance is the site size is so small and across the road is another project, so having a tall core gives the cranes a bit of space to move around, also separates the core crew and the floor crew so it isn't as crowded.

This section of Melbourne's CBD is like a rainbow of glass. It looks like a candy shop I think with all the bold glass colours.
