Google Earth

Drive by 600 North Fairbanks on the street level Google Earth...it is pretty amazing...the shot was taken right before they took down the south facing construction elevator.

1401 is on the market for 1,099,000. Three bedroom.

I am scheduled to close on November 6th! We will see if it actually happens.

Closing moved up...

We we're just notified of a potential closing between Nov. 19 an Dec 7 on Floor 23. they had previously indicated Jan or Feb closing for this unit. Hard to believe they could be ready that soon, although they are making good progress.

Address change? - 250 East Ohio

Hello all,

I walked by today and they are working on the sidewalk in front of the building. It looks like they are pouring a very dark cement. They have space for the requisite planters as well. The lobby flooring seems to be a white/cream terrazzo by my estimation. It is difficult to see. In addition, I noticed an address: 250 East Ohio over the entrance of the building. Perhaps this will be our mailing address.

Address

No, my sources tell me this will be the delivery address. The building is known as 600 N Fairbanks and the mailing address will be 600 N Fairbanks. When you get deliveries, you will probably tell them 250 E Ohio.

Looking Good

Thanks for the picture updates. It is hard for me to make it downtown often and see the progress of the building in person. I can't wait to take my first step inside.

Thanks.

Trees

They were power-washing the sidewalk yesterday. There are five trees planted along Ohio in front of the building. The doorperson's desk is glass. I will try to post the pics from the walk-through tomorrow evening.

Lobby

Whats up with the lobby? This looks completely different from the renders. If I recall correctly, weren't the walls suppose to have wood panels instead paint? Speaking of the paint, am I the only one who thinks this color is the opposite of what this building represents, ie. light, air, transparency. Maybe a color such as white would of been a better choice. I truly hope this is not the final product cause if it is, I'm gonna have a talk with my lawyer. I am truly dissappointed with this lobby, so much that I am willing to walk away from this thing or sell. Fairbanks, please tell me that I am wrong since you've seen it first hand. Also, what are the quality of the interior finishes. I'm really concerned now since I think they've cheaped out on the lobby, theres no telling what other cuts were made. Damn I'm pissed!

Wow!

I went by yesterday and thought the lobby walls looked good. The flooring wasn't anything special but I thought the lobby looked fine. Sorry you are so dissapointed!

Lobby

I believe that the FIRST lobby renderings did show wood on the walls. However, the updated rendering which has been displayed on the website for two years shows a painted wall. Having any wood on the walls is a chore, take it from me, my present building constantly has problems with people nicking the wood. I think that the lobby looks very nice and we are lucky that we have such a large lobby. Most buildings have retail or a very small lobby (even in most prestige buildings). I would rather have painted walls than a White Hen in my lobby. The floor is very durable material which is important in a high traffic area..I like the choices so far.

I will post my walk through pictures tomorrow and will try to include hallway shots as well if it is done.

The Inside

Hi Fairbanks,

The pictures look great! Thanks for posting those sooo fast. What was your initial thought when you walked in the place? Were you happy with your upgrades/selections.

Thanks.

Walk-through reactions

Hello,

The space felt at least 1250 sq feet, I believe that we bought real sq footage. I was very pleased with my selections, I did a few upgrades and all were completed. The finish work was better than I anticipated. The water pressure was great and the dishwasher is nearly silent. I have very few items on the punchlist. The inspector said the electrical and other systems looked good. There is PLENTY of room for a dining table in the 05 tier...either to the right of the terrace or against the wall opposite the large concrete wall (which is where I am placing mine). The lobby furniture is being delivered on Wednesday. If anyone has specific questions please feel free to email me, especially in the 05 tier.

Cheers!
