The TD Center on the right has also been repainted and the brown windows replaced with black ones.

Though I'd like to see the inside part, I think they made a great work on the outside.

From the churches thread. Amazing, in my opinion. This is how you make a church useful.

Theres something about swooping overhead arches and great open spaces that is enchanting, so the inspiring shape of the former church building that once drew people to their god now draws people to learn from the books in the library that replaced it.

More libraries and science/art/museum halls should have great overhead arches

Seeing buildings restored to their former glory is so satisfying and even addicting...
Tibbits Opera House, Detroit (1882)

In the 60s they replaced the facade and roof, probably due to 80 years of neglect.

Nice restoration that sticks to the architect's vision.

This is the Vijselbank in Amsterdam

Nevertheless, it is a good renovation.
The cinema (City) is my favorite one in Amsterdam btw.

Sorry, I got it from a Polish thread

And yeah, that theatre is gorgeous. It's unbelievable how they can replicate the original long-lost look so well.

Cool building/restoration, but it's not in Detroit. Rather it's about a two hour drive west/southwest of Detroit in Coldwater, Michigan.

Not finished, but a true jewel been restored in Guatemala

Before (photo taken around 1926): it's the building on the left.

Before (some years ago): Completely abandoned, didn't even had roof

Now: it's still being restored, but it already looks better

And here's another one that is looking good. Restored on the inside, the outside is still destroyed...
