Price and delays of construction caused by numerous archeological works. Main section is planned for completion in 2018, but it's subject for change. That's what I think

Srsly? I think for such a low population it's just a waste of public money. Fast trams would be better and much cheaper.

Thessaloniki has 1,1 million inhabitants, this 370 000 is just an administrative number because the borders of the Municipality of Thessaloniki are organized in that way.

But isn't the 1 million for the population of the metropolitan area? Urban pop seems to be arounf 750.000. But who trusts stats from Greece... ;-)
