BERLIN | Hardenberg Tower | 209m | 52 fl | Pro

The City-West AG and Langhof today presented a proposal for the City-West.

They want to realise another Tower next to Zoofenster(118m) and UpperWest(118m)

I hope they'll bring this on. Berlin's West badly needs this kind of proper dominant, to compete with the East's TV Tower! And to finally get a proper skyscraper.

Langhof architects' site on the proposal: http://www.langhof.com/hardenberg/

It is a mixed tower with a hotel, residential units, offices, parking garages, shops and an observation platform with a skybar. It'd have some 52 floors.

List of Berlin's towers: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_...user_in_Berlin

Another cubic visualisation:

Btw: The thread's title needs to be changed to "Pro", as it's nowhere near prepartion works.

Such unexpected but great news. Berlin has always been one of my favorite cities, but I do feel it lacks tall buildings. I'm very familiar with the location and couldn't be happier about this newcomer.

Is its site really on preparation?

About frickin' time the capital of Europe's largest economy gets a proper skyscraper. And with such a great design, no less. Perfect!

Because the square, it's standing on, is named like that. The square was named in honor of Karl August von Hardenberg, a Prussian nobleman and statesman, famed for strongly opposing Napoleon.

By the way, this building won't get build, lol. Mark my words.

I love it but they should design a proper top. Not just a large cube.

Additional visualisations of the Hardenberg proposal appeared on Langhof's website,
showing the dominant skyline impact in this part of the city, landmark-like almost mirroring the Alex Tower/Fernsehturm of the City East:

Hardenberg Tower | Berlin - City West | 52 floors | 209m

Source and architect: Christoph Langhof Architekten, http://www.langhof.com/portfolio/hardenberg-berlin/

Berlin forum thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1762485

Full resolution of the earlier render: http://www.morgenpost.de/bin/tower-133215245.jpg

It still has the character of an architect's and an initiative (AG City Berlin) vision though, as an investor would need to pick up the plans and the councils have to approve.
