It will be a miracle if this plant turns into a thriving area but the thought if it is pretty cool!

If they put time and money into it, why not?

Live tiger gets loose inside Detroit's Packard Plant

DETROIT, MI - Two men took to social media Monday to announce they were corralling a live tiger inside the city's historic Packard Plant.

Kari Smith, director of development for the Packard Plant, confirmed the tiger was inside the plant as part of a photo shoot along with two other large cats. The animals came from Animals of Montana, based in Bozeman, Montana.

Smith told reporters the tiger got away from the photo shoot. She said the crew did get a permit to work in the plant but did not tell plant officials that they intended to bring a tiger into the building.

What's the timeline for the redevelopment of this place? I hope they can put it to good use. It looks suitable for white collar office jobs or light manufacturing.

I believe they said renovations would happen in stages over the course of 15 years, though I don't remember hearing anything more specific.

This is great news; however, I don't understand how they can refurbish this complex when it doesn't look structurally viable any longer.

Super ambitious project. Although on a smaller scale, reminds me of Brightleaf Square in Raleigh, NC... a renovation of several former American Tobacco Company warehouses.

Groundbreaking on the redevelopment should start soon. Phase One (Administration Building+Bridge+nearby Arte Express Building) is expected to be finished in 2018

I really hope they are able to save this before they are forced to tear it down.
