why the barely noticeable curve on the west facade? is that the big "design move" for the side addressing the city? seems a little arbitrary in my opinion in that it has absolutely nothing to do with the hard-edged "concept" of the building, but then no more arbitrary than the same token curve they used on the north facade of their randolph tower.

nice glazing though.

Nice fall day downtown. Notice the new glass on 55 E. Monroe.

What's the plan for 55 E. Monroe? Just new facade on the condo levels?

Nice pic. Does anyone have a rendering on what they are gonna do with 55 E Monroe? The changes so far look pretty promising.

^They're only re-cladding half of the building, so it looks pretty ridiculous.

Is it going to be 9 or 14 floors that will be re clad at 55 Monroe? Some sources say 9 some say 14 and its really confusing. From the looks of it right now I am starting to think it is 9, but the renderings show 14. Does anyone have any reliable information? In my opinion the more the better. It would be great if they did the office portion also, it would take away the effect of one of the most hideous buildings in Chicago.

Why not just re-clad the entire building? That's going to look stupid!

Not as stupid as 1/3 in nice brand new glass, and 2/3 in cheap & old 1960's glass.
