Idiotic statements like this are the reason why our country suffers: 'speak first, think after.'

The Willis Tower is NOT going to be re-clad, nor does it need to be. In fact, the owner is planning a $500 million renovation and expansion that will increase pedestrian engagement at street level and provide a brand new experience for people who work in the tower and also the downtown population and visitors in general:

http://www.archdaily.com/804907/will...ion-renovation

Secondly and most importantly, Chicago has the same type of 'inner city crime problem' that ALL American cities have, such as Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Indianapolis, Atlanta, New Orleans, Philadelphia, the list goes on and on. The reason Chicago is singled-out are complex but also relatively simple: 1.) Chicago is the North American rail center/nexus, which also unfortunately means that a LOT of illegal drugs are shipped to, from and through Chicago. 2.) This drug trade is what fuels 95% of the murders that Chicago has been so dramatically maligned for. The fact that these murders happen in areas of the City that are predominantly African-American is only because of lack of resources and opportunities afforded to these communities, mostly due to the underlying and continued racist status quo of our country. 3.) The gun problem in Chicago is being fueled by OUT OF STATE GUNRUNNERS, from states like Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Georgia and yes, even your beloved state of Texas.

Next time you feel like making a derogatory comment, I'd recommend first really thinking about what you write so that you don't sound idiotic.

As for THIS development, Related Midwest has purchased the site, and they are a MASSIVE company with deep pockets and a pretty damn good development team. Even if this specific design is not built, they have indicated that they will design something iconic and possibly even 2000' tall.

However, that's not saying Chicago shouldn't be building any new skyscrapers, I'd love to see the US have a megatall in the near future, they came so close in 2008 with construction of the Chicago Spire. Also if the 2008 stock market crash never happened, would Chicago Spire have been completed?

Yes. Ty Warner had even already dropped $40 million on the triplex penthouse.

You should really remove "Gateway Tower" from your render, as it's never been a real proposal and WILL NEVER HAPPEN.....

Also, you may want to adjust the Wolf Point tower heights. The east building is only 660' and it looks like 900' here.

Why should he remove the Gateway Tower? He knows it is not going to be built. He stated "Future Chicago skyline with all projects currently under construction and proposed/in development (including the Gateway Tower)" which means he added all projects under construction, proposed, in development, and included the Gateway Tower as a bonus. To be honest, a future Chicago skyline would not be complete without it.

?

Chicago is no more dangerous than any city in the US. And I see the Sears Tower every day. It does not need to be reclad.
