Exactly it looks handicapped and feels far away from being freestanding!

Can somebody tell me why CTBUH webside lists India Tower, Russia Tower and Nakheel Tower which all started construction as never completed, but Chicago spire is still listed as on hold?

Actually, Nakheel tower should be listed as on hold too, since the developer never officially cancelled the project.

Just use the Nakheel Tower plot to build the Chicago Spire.

(Actually the Anara plot would be much more fitting, point is, just build the damn thing.)

That's true, the Chicago Spire would fit so well in Dubai. And some of the members seem to like it so much, they should just take the design over there.
Chicago, on the other hand, needs something elegant and sophisticated.

Elegance and sophistication doesn't always mean old fashioned crappy cubic towers! I don't love Chicago Spire but I don't hate it as well. I think it fits better in one of the major Chinese cities not Dubai. The style that is found in Dubai is very different from anywhere else .. you either hate it or love it.

Yeah, right. Because nothing exudes with elegance and sophistication as much as that Big Ben "lookalike" tower in Dubai.

you hate or love Dubai, facts are facts no one can compete with it in terms of development and mightiness in this century.

So 16 years then? Chicago reversed the flow of a river back in 1900.

This project could save Chicago in an instant.
