This is Part 2 of the State vs. State series. Choose the state(s) that you prefer the most.
If anyone has any pictures of these states, please post them! GYRO on the web Last edited by GYRO; February 11th, 2005 at 11:25 PM. |

Removing Missouri and Kansas would make this a lot more interesting.

I pick Missouri because of St. Louis and K.C. Its one of a few states that have 2 pro baseball and nfl franchises. IMO, both cities are moderately progressive to progressive on the issues of urban development and offers a good quality of life. The rest of the state is full of confederate, backwater hoosiers.

I vote Oklahoma because I believe it is one of the most underappreciated states in the union. Also because I will be shortly calling it home!

Nebraska is a great state, albeit some areas are terrible such as Central and North Omaha. People dont seem too realize that Omaha and Lincoln's MSA run into each other, the official city limit of Omaha and Lincoln are only 35 miles apart and have 1.1 million people (800,000 in Omaha and 300,000 in Lincoln). Five fortune 500 companies headquarters and Thirty-five fortune 500 companies have service centers. Omaha and Lincoln have many hospitals: University Medical Center, Clarkson Hospital, Clarkson West hospital, Douglas County Hospital, Immanuel Hospital, Bergan Mercy Hospital, Midlands Hospital, Creighton University Medical Center, Bryan LGH, St. Elizibeth in Lincoln, they have a new hospital at 168th and center and two additional large hospitals in Council Bluffs and Madonna Hospital. Omaha has perhaps the best highway system in America. Omaha also has many colleges: University of Nebraska Omaha, University of Omaha Lincoln, College of St. Mary, Creighton, Wesselyn University, Bellevue University, Dana College, Buena Vista University, Peru State in Lincoln and the community college system in Omaha has like 10 campuses. I mean Missouri and Kansas have some attributes that are nice but Omaha and Lincoln have more than alot of major, major metro areas when it comes to hospitals and colleges.

Are you serious about that??? I live in Springfield, MO's 3rd city. We are not that bad!! We have about 30,000 college students here and I guarantee about 25000 are liberal like me. Just because we are close to Branson does not mean we are all hicks. The majority of shows in Branson have dancers that are male. Can we say gay.......definietely not hoosiers. Branson is not even that backwoods anymore. It is more of a shopping and timeshare destination now.
