Aren't you that guy who said could get the height of burj dubai? Then one afternoon I remember reading through this chat between you and your friend in the burj dubai thread about how you thought we're all sad for being interested in skyscrapers and architecture. I remember you (or the other guy can't remember) saying something like "look how these sad sods get orgasms over a construction pic".

The palms are very nice despite their problems and the skyscrapers in Dubai are just awesome!
I am saying that you don't have style. You have money but not style. I am shure that for 20years Dubai will look as ghost town. Those projects are not integratet in town. They are standalone. You don't have urbanisam.

The Palm, Deira has started long, long time ago, and work still goes on. There were at least two ships yesterday overthere.

Care to elaborate? Don't think anyone here minds critisism but you must back up what you say. Give us some reasons for everything you said and maybe we can have a proper conversation

He does have a point in a way. Everything is built straightaway without considering if it will blend in with the design of the area so sometimes things look very haphazard

I suppose, like building 3 palms. Taking towers as an example though, even though this is the case they still end up blending in with each other quite well (like the ones on SZR)

I agree to a point. But I think that once each major project is completed the area around it, and between major projects will develop over time much like a normal city would. This will allow the projects to blend into each other over time. It will also give the city the more organic feel that people seem to think it lacks. No amount of urban planning can do that, it's something that just happens with time. And it will/is happen(ing) in Dubai.

I was thinking...

Would Dubai still be rich when Fuel Cell is already used for all the cars in the world?

I had that in mind while I was wondering why people are posting about Dubai running out of oil.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Dubai functioning as Hong Kong and Singapore as world business and financial hubs? It's high time we have something in the middle east like this to "balance" the world out.

Plus the middle east has historically been the "global" trading zone. That's why countries in power seem to fight to control it kinda like the U.S. is doing with Iraq. Also I gotta add that the middle east has some extremely beautiful women. Maybe that's why some countries make them cover up. I bet Dubai is swarming with beautiful women.

Ok, I think I just strayed from the subject of this thread by throwing out ideas. I would love to own a house on Palm Jumeriah. Better yet, become successful as Donald Trump and invest in Dubai real estate.
