AeroMexico now flies to Nicaragua

http://www.anna.aero/2014/12/15/aero...ies-nicaragua/

Aeromexico*on 10 December added*Managua*(MGA) in Nicaragua to its route network when it launched six times weekly flights on the 1,600-kilometre route from*Mexico City(MEX) using its E170s. No other carrier operates the route. With this development, Managua will be positioned as Aeromexico’s fifth Central American destination and the 14th across all of Latin American. In the first 11 months of 2014 international passenger numbers at Augusto César Sandino International Airport serving Managua are up around 7% at just over one million. Other airlines serving the Nicaraguan airport include American Airlines to Miami, Delta Air Lines to Atlanta, Spirit Airlines to Fort Lauderdale and United Airlines to Houston Intercontinental.

Dallas Business News: VivaAerobus will fly to 3 Mexican cities from DFW Airport in 2015

Quote:
VivaAerobus will launch service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to three Mexican cities in 2015, the low-cost carrier announced Friday.
The Monterrey-based airline will serve Guadalajara and Monterrey starting on March 28 and will launch service to Cancun in July. VivaAerobus will fly an Airbus A320 out of Terminal D three times a week.
"VivaAerobus represents a new option for D/FW customers to travel to Mexico and we're happy to have them here at D/FW Airport," airport CEO Sean Donohue said. "VivaAerobus has been gaining popularity and market share in Mexico and we believe it will make a great partner for us and a great option for our Dallas/Fort Worth customers."
Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of VivaAerobus, touted the airline's connections to other parts of Mexico and the business opportunities opened up by flying into D/FW Airport. The airline serves 21 destinations in Mexico.

Interjet A320-200 (reg. XA-WAB)

And by the way, I wonder: will Interjet expand its US operations to add more flights to the West Coast, especially that its rival, Volaris, is mounting additional services soon?

Nothing in the pipelines that I am aware of. Volaris
Volaris have a fendency of applying for rights with DOT but never comes through. Which leds me to believe this so called low cost can possibly go belly up in less than 10 yrs.

Don't quote me on that but theres talks...

Hmmm... is it because of competition, or is it because of protectionism? And can that be a similar case too with Interjet?

i would say a bit of both. As far as Interjet goes they have a good chance but they need to become full service carrier to join an alliance (One World) due to new code share with AA.

Hmmm, when will this aircraft get the new livery?

Aeromexico B737-700 (WL) (reg. N904AM)

My understanding is that aircraft's with the chrome livery are being phased out. The 737 is being replaced with the new 738 and soon the new 738MAX. The few 767's are soon going to the desert while more 787's come on board.

There's also talk of replacing all 772ER with 773ER and placing an order for the new 777X not sure which version yet.

You mean the B737-700 will be replaced with the B737-800? The B737-700 can fly a bit longer than the -800 variant... perhaps it should consider getting the B737-900ER so that it can operate to even more routes.

And by the way, has Aeromexico considered getting any Airbus aircraft, or is it staunchly loyal with Boeing?
