Oh, right. I thought it was pretty tight.

Edit: Current playlist- Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth - T.R.O.Y. and then a little bit of Gangstarr.

^great track. I still remember the first time I heard that song back in like '92 or '93. My friend put the album in, and when that track came up, we couldn't even handle ourselves. We probably listened to it like 5 times in a row. Bizarre Ride from start to finish is just right--every song is good.

Yo mama's got a peg leg with a kickstand...

I never saw em live. You're lucky to have done so. Man, swiv, we gotta get together, listen to some hip hop and pull some tubes.

Playlist: The Roots.

Get on your good foot and step just a little bit, get on your good foot and step just a little bit.

Dilla - past and present.

'You Keep on Moving' by Deep Purple, and next probably 'Here I Go Again' by Whitesnake. I admit I did just watch Old School
so I guess it's a Coverdale combo for me right now

Third of a kind - it's great to see Chicago MCs getting some real recognition. There's always been a lot of talent around, just no one to really take notice of it (except for a few lucky ones like Common Sense, etc.). Do you like Diverse?

Nice tracks on those links. Some downtempo, laid-back music.

By the way, I found this great site that has a lot of the original breaks in .wav and .mp3 form, including, of course, the Amen Break. Swiv, you'll enjoy this, too.
http://formen.ign.com/news/29351.html?fromint=1

Current Playlist: Binary Star

Edit: You can download Binary Star's entire "Masters of the Universe" album here: http://www.subterraneousrecords.com/motu.html Third, Swiv - if you haven't heard them, I highly recommend it.

If you just want to sample a track, go with "Slang Blade" (not the intro). "Reality Check" might be your type of style, too, Third. This sh*t'll blow your mind. It's a shame these guys don't get together and rhyme anymore because they had something real to say ("My haikus increasingly broaden your IQs"--come on, now!). Same w/ Digable Planets (although I heard rumors they're cutting another album).

New York is red hot.

The first track that got me into hip-hop. I was in eighth grade and the second CD I ever bought was the Geto Boys "We Can't Be Stopped." This was around like 1991. When I heard "My Mind is Playin Tricks on Me," I was hooked. To this day, I still love that track.

YeS!!!! diverse is just too ill

flow wise he's just incredible....I've been following dude since he had a guest appearance on that mykiel myers track....then I heard his "move" EP and I was hooked....

I think his debut one a.m. was definitley overlooked, and on the stuff he's done with prefuse...just nasty, nasty

yeah binary star is ill, I remember when the masters lp came out, but I remember most of those singles being released as 12"s, I liked that track they had with the athletic mic league..slang blade is really really ill....you know One man army just came out w/ a solo lp I think

as for new york, we got good acts here...but alot of the best cats don't get that good recog in the underground....esp bronx cats...some of the wildest and groundbreaking shit still comes out of the bronx..but most cats never get to hear it or get exposed to it (i.e. sonic sum)

3tmk..man whitesnake is ill too!!!, old school is hilarious
