By 深南向上. Left plot, not the big one in the middle (where they are planning a 180m tower)

SHENZHEN | Prince Plaza | 209m | 42 fl | U/C

OMA has designed an office tower at Sea World metro station in Shekou, Shenzhen. The building will contain 60 000 m2 office, and 40 000 m2 commercial in the podium.

"Prince Plaza is confronted with a mix of urbanity within Shekou: how does the building integrate with the existing industrial fabric and the new commercial and office developments? How does Prince Plaza benefit from its location at the waterfront, with verdant mountains behind it? Located at the prominent mountain sea view corridor, Prince Plaza comprises a horizontal podium accommodating retail and a stepped tower at one end of the podium, accommodating offices. The podium stretches the full length of the orthogonal site, while the 200m tower aligns with the view corridor without obstructing it, becoming a beacon that guides the view from the waterfront to the mountain.

In response to the scale of the site, the tower is split into two separate bars that share a common core. Each bar is broken down through the insertion of a sky deck, serving both tenants of Prince Plaza and the public. The two decks are at different heights, responding to the scales of the surrounding buildings. One of the bars is slightly set back, resulting in floor plans with increased perimeters to maximize natural light. The podium mall has a large opening at grade to allow continuity of the view corridor. Two bridges are introduced to connect Price Plaza to the two tallest office towers in the Sea World masterplan, a large scale commercial and entertainment development in Shekou.

The podium has a modular system of façade elements of stone, glass, and advertisement signage, adjustable depending on the program of the mall. The tower has a fluted façade to emphasize the slenderness of the vertical volumes. At the view corridor, the facades employ a pattern inspired by the mountain and the sea, emphasizing the relationship between the building and its surroundings. Prince Plaza becomes part of the repositioning of Shekou by responding to the area's industrial history and its new ambitions for development"

According to a Dutch architecture website, construction has started.

It's the first project thread I ever started, so please excuse me if I did not follow certain guidelines, I tried my best.

The location of the tower is really nice, however, I think the design is not too intelligent. Just a square box with some cut out skygardens. The construction must be interesting though.
Usually OMA's curtain walls are pretty pretty, so that should help this tower to become a nice addition to Shekou

I asked to mode for a title changing
Don't worry if you were wrong with the title format

The correct format is:
NAME OF THE CITY | Name of the building | Height (m) | Height (ft) | Floors | Status

Or (if there are multiple towers) you should write only the three tallest buildings in the entire complex:
NAME OF THE CITY | Name of the buildings | Height 1 (m) | Height 1 (ft) | Floors 1 | Height 2 (m) | Height 2 (ft) | Floors 2 | Height 3 (m) | Height 3 (ft) | Floors 3 | Status

If there are multiple towers with the same height (like twins):
NAME OF THE CITY | Name of the buildings | Height x2(or more) (m) | Height x2(or more) (ft) | Floors x2(or more) | Status

I hope I'm understandable

Anyway visit this page from Ni3IS:

that one tower first rising and then topped out quite low had the charaacters for Taizi on it, so doesn't it mean this is topped out, but failed to pass 200m?

Last november they were busy excavating and piling, and I wonder how far they've gotten by now. It is right next to the 'Sea World' MTR station. I'm not living in SZ anymore, so if anybody sees a chance to drop by and post an update, I would be happy!

Warning: there are pretty tall construction fences around the site, so it is hard to track progress from street level.

Awesome! Good job Iowenmeister,

and KillerZavatar, I think this is the whole site, photographed from East to West. So the main tower should rise on the behind half of the site.
