Poor Sydney heheheehe
I still laugh at the irony of Grollos old saying that sticks are for seagulls and other bird life and then next thing you know Eureka has a STICK too, cracks me up.

The thing I notice about Eureka and Q1 is that they've set new benchmarks and opened up new possibilities when it comes to scale in Australia.

Nothing has been seen in Sydney for over 20 years on that front, and even then we got a modest observation / restaurant tower and not a skyscraper.

Personally I notice monster buildings much more than a bunch of little ones, that's just me... but these buildings are also their respective cities icons which lends them extra attention.

Eureka and Q1 are huge, especially in their lower density surrounds, which makes the WOW factor even better.

It's amazing to see how Eureka and Q1 completely dominate their skylines already and they're not even finished.

Sydney has never really had a 'big' scraper. Funny how people are suddenly noticing that.

Dawes Point has a 330 metre height limit, watch that space, although it would unbalance the skyline greatly I think we might see a 330 metre scraper there.

Australia is lucky to have two really BIG skylines for a population of only 20 million. They are both awesome skylines, but quite different as well.

There are quite a few sites in Melbourne which have NO height limit at all :-)

um reality check... not unless Sydney gets blown up in a nuclear war or an alien invasion. Sydney is far from loosing its preminence - I think once council goes and someone with balls takes over Melbourne and the GC will be left for dead in the height stakes.
