World Trade Center Developer Pays $65 Million For Biscayne Boulevard Property

Quote:
The developer of the World Trade Center in São Paulo has purchased a Holiday Inn on Biscayne Boulevard for $65 million. He plans to demolish it to build one of Miami’s tallest buildings, the World Trade Center Of the Americas.

The 77-story World Trade Center is designed to include 1.4 million square feet of space, which is the maximum permitted on the property under zoning code. The project is now fully approved, after the FAA said last month that the tower’s height of 969 feet above ground would not pose a threat to air travel.

Maybe my least favorite of Miami's planned supertalls.

Great, what excellent location to build it linking the cityscape Wachovia-Marquis.

I'm sooooooo tired of Miami's zillion proposals and so-called 'approvals' when we still haven't seen jackshit come out of the ground -_-
And with this new FAA regulation, IF miraculously all those proposals ever actually happened, it would create a pretty ugly 'flat-roofed skyline.

Not impressed before I see a sign of real life from there.

Miami is already building a new tallest, which is over half way up. Taller towers are coming to Miami. With all of these proposals - many of them already approved by the FAA, a supertall is inevitable.
