WOW! Vietnam is starting its internal tower race... Maybe someone could pick a spot and start doing night skyline timelapses? Any forum members from Vietnam willing to do this?

Vincom Landmark 81 to Become Vietnam's Tallest Tower

Quote:
By 2018, Vincom Landmark 81 will dominate the Ho Chi Minh City skyline, which like many Asian cities, is undergoing rapid transformation. The city's top five tallest towers were all completed in the last decade, including the current highest building, the 263-metre Bitexco Financial Tower. The Vietcombank Tower is one of the most recent additions to the changing cityscape, which will soon be altered further by a twin-tower development called The One.

I might have a View point from a city roof top but not on the ground site, only once the tower will be 20 or 30 meters high.
I'll keep you updated if I see it well of not

This looks fantastic ! I wonder if these green surrounding areas will be opened to public or will remain private. If it's the first case, I believe there is not enough connectivity between both sides. Anyway, we'll see how it goes, looks promising

81 is some kind of lucky number - it is 3 raised to the 4th power.

Really doubt that, since 4 is considered a "bad luck number" in Vietnam (like in many other Asian countries)

Also the base of the tower look promising.

Small Update of the construction site

Hello guys,
Hard to find a view point but at least here are some picts from the outside of the construction site (we can only see the other buldings).

From Saigon Bridge:

Is that the tower? Not really sure...

From a bit further

And finally the skyline of Saigon
(sorry for this super bad MSPaint draft, but it gives us a good idea )

Hope you guys enjoy that

4 is actually considered a lucky number to many Vietnamese because bốn (4) sounds like vốn (profit). Additionally some Vietnamese view the number 8 as unlucky because it resembles handcuffs.

Today on site. Nothing special but always impressive (and Saigon Pearl looks so small from here).
