Hi
I am a christian and so i don`t know much about your religion, but i want to change this.

Things i heard but i am not really sure if they are right:

The base of your religion is the old bible.
You celebrate the birthday of genesis.
You have Lilith a woman that was equal with Adam and was made before Eva.

Are this 3 statements right ?

Can you please give me more information?

Hello Tom Green,

Judaism is based both on the written and oral Torah. The written is one you refer to as the Old Bible. The oral Torah is as important as the written, as far as human beings are concerned. The actual Jewish traditions reach back to Adam and Eve, and are not started with the revelation of the Torah, or from Avrohom and Sarah. It is a complex subject.

There are many birthdays in the world. The dates of the Jewish calendar are based from the 6th day of creation, the day mankind was created.

The issue of Lilith is incorrect, as you put it. There was not other humans before Adam and Eve. The aspect of male and female parts of a whole, from which Adam and Eve were created, is a topic of study.

There is a lot of information and this thread is not going to cover all of it. Take it easy.

Hebrew calender:
we are now living in the year of 5765 , since the creation of the univers. new Hebrew year falls on september or october.
lilith? demons? not in Jewish tradition. probably from Nordic/Germanic mythlogy.

remember Christianity is not adifferent religion from Judaism , but anew and elaborated form of Judaism. it is the neojudaism that suppose to replace the old version,
all time the old form still exist, the new version can't take its place and it is not legitimate. this is the basic contradictive problem the church has with Judaism.
