Hi everybody. I'm going to Samsun and i'm very excited. Thanks for all the photos uploaded.
But i have a few questions : 1. Where can i go swimming and sunbathing in Samsun ? Are there any beaches in the nearby or something ? 2.Are there any shopping malls in Samsun ? If yes, could you please name a few.If not, can you recomand me where to go shopping ? ( streets with shops etc) 3.What about clubs ? Are there any nice clubs in Samsun where i can have a good time ? Thank You |

I have to say I prefer Fener beach because of the better location which is a little outside and second the people there are not too annoying. And this is actually the main reason why people go to the municipality beaches and not to the beautiful long beach of Atakum. They don't want to be observed or even molested. However if you prefer one of the beaches you will also have a lounger for free and place where you can dress. Food and drinks are not in the price. An additional information the black sea is not comparabale with the turkish south for example the agean sea. Be warned of jellyfishes, waves and ground movements in the water. 2. There are 2 malls. The first one is outside the city close to the bus terminal the second is Yesilyurt mall in Atakum http://www.yesilyurtavm.com/. The first mall is nothing special I don't even know if it is still open. Yesilyurt is a small but nice mall and after shopping you can have a walk along the coast. The shooping place in the city is the long Ciftlik street with shops an restaurants and eating döner keabab in the restaurant Caliskusu is a must do thing. Another shooping place is Mecidiye which is cheaper than Ciftlik but you have to watch your bag there, you know it is not a dangerous place but a little overcrowded. 3. There are few clubs and pubs in the city center but most of them are along the beach in Atakum. They look all a little cheap but they are actually nice and almost all of them have an outdoor sitting place. You will see that people in Samsun like live music, bands etc and not clubbing. But you will need a car or a taxi to go out at night. Daytimes you can use the tram or dolmus, little buses. Here two places of different prices ranges. http://www.girgircafe.com/ http://www.luccalounge.com/ I don't know from where you are but if you don't know any turkish and have questions you should look after western looking young Turks. Most of them know a little english.

Samsun Büyükşehir Belediyesi tarafından Batıpark'ta yaptırılan 'Amazon Köyü'ne, birebir amazon kadınlarına benzeyen heykeller yerleştirildi. Amazon Köyü'nde gücü simgelemesi için yerleştirilen 10 metre yükseliğinde ve 200 metre kare genişliğindeki 2 Anadolu Aslan'ının ağzından Amazon Köyü seyredilirken, midesinden de 3 boyutlu savaş sahneleri izlenecek.
