Blocks of images make browsing your thread difficult for me, so I don't know if the issue was discussed already, but I wanted to point out that modernist art (and architecture) does not equal modern art (and architecture). I say this because you said "modern" in the thread title but "modernist" in the OP. FWIW, the modern era is something that started way, way before the modernist movement. Depending on how many criteria one wants to contain in the definition, the start of the modern era happens with the birth of humanism the earliest (early Renaissance) or with the French revolution the latest. But normally the consensus is to talk about "modern era" from the time of the industrial revolution (17th century). Architecture of the modern era is therefore technically modern architecture, though of course some of the architecture emerging in the modern era wasn't forward looking of course. But if you read art history books you can expect to see architectural styles such as, say, neoclassical or hausmannian referred to as "modern architecture".

In what regards the modernist styles that you chose (and the examples), basically you're doing an "international style" thread. Here's hoping you're sharing the more interesting Romanian examples.
