'proper' elevations are useless for this structure. I'm sure the A+U book (I have no idea what you mean by 'article') has the unfold facade drawing in it at least once.

if you actually look at the whole book, there are real construction drawings in the back of parts of the building, with measurements. scan those, read the measurements, scale them, and estimate for the folded facade. it's more than adequate to make a model.

You could try e-mailing arup telling them what you are doing - and how you tried speaking to oma etc.

Also - I tried making a sketch up model, i found out just by looking about the following dimensions - the footprint is 160 x 160m, tower 1 = 60 x 40m, tower 2 = 52 x 42m, the max height is 234m and the towers tilt at 6 degrees. I had to guess the rest.

How big will your model be for your final major?

Thanks for replying in a much less supercilious fashion than the chap before you. I was thinking probably 1:100 scale. OMA directed me to a web page which had the details that only a fool would describe as an article, on the CCTV building. These however are far from sufficient to build a detailed model to British industry standard (I’d adore the chance to see one of thenewold’s stunning models made without access to any proper specification details).
I’ll get onto Arup next as you say and see what they can do to help.
Thanks again,
Jonathan

easy mate. A+U is a monthly magazine/book published out of Japan, most are over 100 pages long. I own the CCTV A+U issue and it has all the drawings I spoke of... Find it and you're golden.

Wow! OMFG!

I've always hoped that this project gets built.

The very long delay in the start-of-construction of this project led me to speculate its cancellation.

Thank God construction has, indeed, started and its status is already well-advanced in the construction-process.

Now that it going up fast, I seriously doubt anything can stop it now.

Ok, here you are, guys!
Pics taken on Jan 26, 2007. Sorry for the bad quality especially those bird eye view's, as they were taken through the green glass of kerry center in the evening.

Actually I didnt feel they are giants, they are just too slim if you see them in person.

It's really hard to take photos from the ground without standing on the high-rise building.

BTW, CCTV is a stunning project!
