I used to work in the old CCTV building on Fuxing Lu, near the Millennium monument and the military museum.

I have a funny story about I nearly got shot when I turned up for my job interview, because I tried to enter the compound through the wrong gate and I couldn't understand the soldier at the gate who was refusing me entry.

I just kept muttering the name of my interviewer to him (which I pronounced wrongly, because of the tones) and the time of my interview, and walked past him, figuring I didn't want to be late for my interview and the solder wasn't going go shoot me... was he?

He came chasing after me and someone else explained I should go to the other gate where the visitor's lodge and reception was.

I still have friends/former colleagues working there, who will transfer to the new building in due course. The new building looks quite cool, but I get a bit vertigo-ish thinking about being above the hole in the middle.

Ooo .. right next to the Military Museum and close to the Beijing West train station. That old building looks so 60s-style!

Domenico, it isn't the most expensive building, but it's one of the most impressive tower I've ever seen.
