They are still not doing it. I wonder when they will start with the construction of its connection?

Yeah.. every day it seems the two towers grow and grow at the point they seem they are just going to get together in certain point, just waiting the connection moment.

i'm already in love with this building

so since it seems it might be finished in 2009, that means they obviously cancelled the initial plans of making it the olympic media center ?

I think it has been discussed a lot of times. They're probably gonna use normal elevators.

There is a straight vertical line in each of the towers, that's where the elevators are gonna go.

and i like the twins in picture #2 too. Beijing will have an impressive skyline in 2008.

as you can see in the pics
the right leg had been topped out
and when the left one is topped out
the connection will begin
the height of the right one is about 180~190m or so
and the height of the left one is about 220~230m or so
the highest point is in the middle of the sky bridge
it is 234m

are we talking about the same picture...or building ? coz i don't see the point between what u wrote and the CCTV building

both legs are more or less at the same height now it seems

and even after completion i have the feeling they have da same height

look at the renderings on the first page of this thread.. there you will see that it's not completely symmetric, one leg is higher than the other

yeah you're right

but still i don't have the feeling there is currently (at time of construction) 40 meters between both legs as bonivison said

but thank you for directing me to the rendering at 1st apge : really amazing building it's going to be...my (almost planned) 2008 next vacations in beijing are largely due to this building and the new opera
