/\

that's because it is so wide. If you compare it with surrounding building, you'll notice that it is indeed that high.

From earlier in this thread - the footprint is 160 x 160m, tower 1 = 60 x 40m, tower 2 = 52 x 42m, the max height is 234m and the towers tilt at 6 degrees.

Not always, partially there are smaller pieces of 2 floors we can see on the pics above. Also sometimes two of the smaller plates are connected to an oblong one, so that the grid is changing and will look lively for sure.

From different angles this building seems to have very different dimentions. It is really hard to get a good idea of this building by just seeing the pictures. Above posted pics are awesome by the way.

Are the metal beams connected at some point or not yet?

Great update, thanks!

They take their time truly connecting the two towers, but it's certainly worth the wait especially with such spectacular engineering going on.

in a recent dutch newspaper there was an interview with Cecil Balmond (Arup) and they wrote that the connection will be made by the end of december.

This is my favourite supertall. Yes, supertall. Uncurl it and you have about 600 meters

Like you can see in this post from the page before the towers are not yet connected. End of december seems realistic. Maybe will be a big event? Is a mayor step and a very special one in the construction proces. By Chinese traditions they should have amazing fireworks.

I love CCTV Tower so much. Didn't realize how big the glass was going to be.
