Is it me, or is this building taking forever to get off the ground?

It's been a VERY slow go. Perhaps there were some issues with the site that haven't been made public.

Understandably so. Many of the seniors I know would be turned off of buying a unit if they heard that the building site originally had "complications".

If I'm not mistaken, this will be the tallest retirement building in the country, or at least the midwest. It's a novel concept, and it's untested waters, especially around here. The 20-story Hilliard Homes are one thing, but 50 stories is quite another.

I swear, the perspective seniors will be long dead by the time this tower gets built. I'm 36...so I better buy now so that it will just be getting completed when I retire.

I just walked by the site earlier today, and this one finally seems to be growing a bit. I didn't have my camera with me, unfortunately.

I took the exact same shot... I wonder if we unknowingly crossed paths today.

hehe, suddenly everyone's got a renewed interest in the Clare .

Either that, or we were all headed to CompUSA for their rubbish going out of business sale .

Great article on the Clare, and the demographic/moving trends underlying it, in today's New York Times:
