Is this guy topped out yet? I haven't been to River North in quite some time.

Are there any other building in the world over 100 metres high that is designed exclusively for senior citizen housing?

I'll happily take white(ish), at least when looking from the northwest. Helps to break up all the beige from that angle. What this area really needs is some frickin' curtain walls.

Unfortunately, the architectural monoculture will only get worse as The Elysian and Ten East Delaware advance skyward. This is one of the reasons why 680 North Rush was such a critical project. Granted, it wouldn't have been in the immediate vicinity of these buildings, but it would've helped add a little bit of sleekness and sparkle to the River North skyline.

Don't know how much interest is left here for this one, but it is complete for all intents and purposes. I grabbed some photos of it tonight, including the recently de-barricaded base:

^ Thank you. I like how The Clare has shaped up, too. Jibba's shots give a good sense of the North side & lobby, which have a nice street presence.

The semi-circular floorplate & smooth painted concete give off a '60s vibe, but in a good way.

One of those rare buildings that gets more & more interesting as you look at it.

^Agreed. I can understand some people's initial skepticism, but with the building complete I think it is really fantastic. Various details that only a good architect would know how to work give the tower a very unique and dynamic character, and this is all the better considering the site it's at.
