According to the captions, the TBM working on the up tunnel "covers 12 metres daily" and has "another 300 metres to cover before it reaches ITO" while the the down tunnel "has covered only 60m till date".

GURGAON | Metro

Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon or RMGL (Hindi: रैपिड मेट्रो रेल गुड़गांव) is a rail-based rapid transit system in Gurgaon that commenced official operation on November 14, 2013.

Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon is India's first privately owned and operated Metro Rail network.

Gurgaon District is a prime commercial and financial district located in northern India in the NCR (National Capital Region) in the State of Haryana, and contains 1.5 million people.
RMGL will be linked with Delhi Metro but is an independently and privately run enterprise.

RMGL plans to commence commercial operation of Phase 2 in 2015.

Details

The contract for the Rs. 9 billion (US$165.6 million) project was awarded in July 2009, with completion scheduled in 30 months' time!
The foundation stone was laid on 11 August 2009.

The line will be built and operated by Rapid Metrorail Gurgaon Ltd (RMGL), a consortium of real estate developer DLF and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS).
DLF owns many properties near the stations while IL&FS is the majority stake holder in the JV.

The project cost Rs. 1088 crore (US$200.2 million) as at Oct 2012.
ILFS has 74% equity and DLF has the remaining 26%.

On April 21, 2010, Siemens India announced that it had been awarded a turnkey contract to build the metro line, including five 3-car metro trains.

Both the piers are located at a junction where three different construction projects have been proposed - which includes an underpass, a unidirectional flyover and the Metro system.

The piers, circular in shape, are designed in a manner so that they can bear additional load. The diameter of each of these piers is two metres. The two structures, according to the private developer, were constructed within a time frame of 100 days.

Survesh Tiwari, spokesperson, RMGL, said, "The total space available on the ground was only five metres and the base of the pier had to be constructed within 10 metres of diameter, once we started digging. To achieve this, RMGL decided to go for the soldier piling technology. The method is also commonly known as the 'Berlin Wall' technology when steel piles and timber lagging is used. This was done to ensure the speedy completion of work with minimal disruptions and guarantee an unhindered traffic movement."

Rapid Metro has used different shaped pillars at different locations, according to the needs. Circular, rectangular and oblong piers have been constructed according to the site constraints.
The total number of pillars to be constructed on the viaduct is 222 out of which 201 have already been completed.

The Rapid Metro link will cater to residential, commercial and office users. The project will help to decongest the cyber city and other areas. However, commuters are facing regular traffic snarls along the construction site.

Thanks for the updates on Gurgaon metro and also on other metro's. You should also open threads for 'chennai' and 'Hyderabad' metro's. And also for 'Navi mumbai metro' and 'Mumbai monorail', whenever you get time. 'Kochi metro' thread can be opened later.

Apart from Mumbai Monorail, Others are still more than year away from opening, I think we should only open thread 3-4 months before opening, watching same kind of pillars and viaducts are booring, let them start work on stations or so, till then we can update them on Indian urban transport thread.

More snaps of the Phase II station. This should give a good idea what to expect from the other stations on the line.
