BUSAN | Las Vegas Sands Casino Resort | +200m | +656ft | Pro

Apparently Sands Corporation is trying to build their next Marina Bay Sands in Busan. Sands invested 5 trillion Korean Won in hope of building a casino resort (below) Along with the concurrent North Harbor reinvigoration project. Earlier in the year the South Korean government had announced that they'd be investing in 2 new casino projects, one being the Midan City project in Yongjeong Island. Sands is hoping that the 2nd one would be them.

After getting rejected by Seoul, they contacted the Busan authorities for a possible resort.

Please someone tell the mayor of Seoul that we're not living in the 19th century.

Well, no problem, Busan will offer better skyline than Seoul. And of course, it's necessary to balance the rest of cities instead Seoul.

I'm a big fan of LVS, I don't think they'll fund a project (especially a large one) if it can't include a casino, most of the income derived from major resorts is through casinos and gambling, that's why a lot of cruise lines also have casinos once they pass international waters.

It can't be possible because they won't open up a resort without a casino, it's a shame.

Busan North Harbour Redevelopment Project

The officials of this project agreed upon making this area the "special-architectural expression district", only allowing certain buildings with peculiar artistic expressions to by built. (Busan will mitigate most of its building regulations there but only allowing certain buildings with artistic significance to be constructed.)

Meanwhile Busan will finish up the ongoing land filling, and will start selling the properties by Q3-Q4.

Hopefully the project turns out to be the modern version of Minato Mirai 21 but better!
