Is that road depicted a highway or just a very wide road?

I'm from Vancouver and the city will not repeal its strict policy on view cones anytime soon. It'd be fine if we could compensate for height limitations by getting high-quality buildings, but that doesn't seem to be the case either.

Mountains are awesome for scenery but probably not a thing you want to have for skyscrapers.
True about Vancouver's height restrictions but on the positive side, you have plenty of other cities in the region that are more than willing to take up the torch.

It's the Grande Allée, Quebec City's Champs Elysées.

Nice view from the bridges

New Renderings Show a Revamped Version of Quebec's Next Tallest Tower
Quote:
The ambitious scheme to build the tallest building in the Canadian province of Quebec has been revamped and refined, as announced today by Michel Dallaire, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Dallaire. On their proposed site along Boulevard Laurier in suburban Quebec City, the project team has taken the concept for the four-tower Le Phare de Québec development further, releasing a brand new set of images to coincide with the informative press conference.

As long as that road traffic is broken up by stops every 50-70m with intersecting streets/traffic lights it should be ok. Otherwise, it won't feel pedestrian friendly.
