HANOI | VTV TOWER | 636m | 2087ft | Pro

VTV = Vietnam Television

Vietnam to build the worlds highest TV tower

VietNamNet Bridge - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Television (VTV) and the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) to establish a joint stock company to build the Vietnam television tower, the highest of its kind in the world.

This project will be implemented on an area of over 14 hectares in Tay Ho District in Hanoi.

This project must be approved by the government because it is a specialized international-scale project. The project will enjoy the highest incentives in accordance with the law.

Besides SCIC, VTV can select other partners, which are private firms, to operate the project.

After the project is put into operation, VTV and SCIC can issue shares to recover capital.

According to the Government, this is a significant work in the field of television in Vietnam, which will have a positive effect on tourism, investment and society, and will also be architectural highlight of Hanoi.

Vietnam to build world's tallest TV Tower

NDO - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has given the nod to Vietnam Television (VTV) and the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) to establish a joint-stock company to invest in the Vietnam Television Tower.

VTV is also allowed to select more private companies to contribute capital to the joint-stock company to run business activities when the project is put into operation.

The tower is scheduled to be built on an area of 14 hectares in the urban centre west of West Lake, Hanoi.

According to the Government leader, the project plays an important role in Hanois development, with its investment raised from non-Government sources, and it will be given the highest incentives in accordance with law.

The Vietnam TV Tower is also an international-scale project and will be the world's tallest tower, requiring special mechanisms decided by the Government such as capital mobilisation, land allocation, and contractor selection among others.

According to the Government, the project has special meaning in the field of television and broadcasting which will create significant impacts on tourism, investment and society while also standing as an architectural highlight of Hanoi.

In August 2014 in Tokyo, VTV signed a contract selecting Japan's Nikken Sekkei as the design consultant contractor for the project.

The project is expected to be completed and put into use in 2020.

the model shown looks promising, with a tapering not unlike Tour Eiffel. Will there be an observatory?

The model looks like they paid more attention to the trees than the buildings.

Is that so bad that someone actually paid attention to the surrounding greenery and not just to to the structural elements? Hanoi is a lovely green city and this will only be preserved if it's taken into account with each major project.

I didn't know this existed!

How beautiful!
Very minimalist, nice curves, vintage yet very modern... soviet architecture at its best.

I need to check that on the spot some time.
