I really like what they do in china for the blind. These things run everywhere, right into the subway systems.

These tiles are used in Europe too. I thought Canada would have had them for ages.

Am I the only one worried about how much longer the Brass Rail is going to last?

^Remingtons is already slated for demolition with a couple of 70 something floor condos to replace it... I think all the strip clubs on Yonge street have limited days.

The One Grows Even Taller as Design Continues to Evolve

Already set to become Canada's tallest building, the ongoing evolution of Mizrahi Developments' The One has seen the height of Toronto tower increased to 340.6 metres/1,117 feet, up from the 329.5 metre height previously proposed. Now planned as an 84-storey building—an increase of four floors—new renderings also show the tower's podium levels have been aesthetically re-imagined, with an intricate diamond-pattern exterior replacing a comparatively plainer previous proposal.

Rumors are flying that apparently Apple has signed a deal for the ground floor unit here, occupancy January 2018. Means this will be going quick once it gets approvals.

That looks cool but it seems like those angled window thingies will significantly impede the views, especially upward.

Loving the newest design revision. I feel like the style of window should be uniform throughout the whole building, though.

Having the diamond-shape windows going all the way up the building would look really awesome, it would also give some new colour to the skyline too.

I'm surprised how quickly things seem to be progressing with this one.

Shoring permits were filed in december, looks like construction will begin any day now! Shoring permits don't need zoning approval, so they can excavate the basement while the building goes through the final stages of approvals.

This is apparently going to be a Top down construction, which involves starting construction at ground level and digging the basement levels while the tower rises above. Apparently an expensive method, but one that is much quicker. Construction is supposed to start in April or May.

I m sorry but it not the most beautiful proposed skyscraper in toronto.I prefer mirvish ,1-7 yonge, bay park center , or holt renfrew . These 4 supertall are way more beautiful and elegant than the One. But i feel the One will be built before these 4 nice towers and i hope these 4 building will not be cancelled like the oxford place or sapphire tower. These 2 majestic tower will missed toronto skyline forever.
If only the one where more beautiful.

Yes the design doesn't appeal to you, you've stated this other places. In case you're wondering almost everyone disagrees with you.

I'm amazed at how quickly this has gone from proposal to construction (April/May).

I agree with him. Could be a better design but still nice to see a supertall for Canada
