The original Renaissance Hotel Seoul, initially developed for the 1988 Summer Olympics, is another highrise building being cut in Seoul. Are the new buildings going to be mixed-use or hotel-only? Based on the renderings, it looks like a mixed-use building.

where or how do you see a mixed use in the render? i think its almost 100% sure this will be renaissance hotel only. and yes, they cut this highrise... to build something taller and more nicer (old hotel has 23 floors, new one 37 floors)

bytheway at the moment this project whole sale into other company.
now 4 china company suggestion to buying this project.

I assumed one tower is hotel, the other tower is office, and the two towers are connected via a skybridge at the very top, instead of the new building being entirely hotel... (Unless the design depicted within the rendering isn't final and could be subject to change.)

MDM developer korea company suggested 9000억(about 0.9 billions) for buying this project.

Actually Original owner, who sambutogun, need at least $1 billions for pay their debt but creditor don't want to wait another enough suggestion.

So in market this project will be sold out to soon

i really really hope that they will design a huge and highly elevated rooftop terrace, something like marina bay sands in Singapore.
This would be such a perfect location for this! View of Namsan Tower, Han River, the highrises of Teheran street, Lotte Tower and Hyundai GBC not far away and mountains to the south.

Please architects: make something awesome!

I am glad to inform you that the hotel willl stop taking reservations after the end of the year 2015, meaning that the building will be closed in a few months and the demolishing and reconstruction of the building could begin in the first half of 2016, hopefully.

It seems that the project will be delayed further, as I've heard from my company that the hotel will accept reservations until at least March 2016 (maybe even later). Seems we'll have to wait a little more.

As mentioned in my previous post, the project as been delayed further, if not on hold.

The hotel as been renamed Belle Essence in January. I guess the Renaissance wasn't ready to launch the rebuilding project, and renamed the hotel to something else because the current Hotel is now a bit too old and underwhelming to use the Renaissance brand.

So after having relaunched the project under a new name, I wouldn't expect them to start rebuilding it in the near future.

New project has emerged after this project started back from scratch.

It's a 37-floor twin tower project, and will be a mix-use building. According to the article, the project would start soon with demolition of the current hotel starting as soon as late October, for a completion scheduled in 2020.
