I like the design, but it looks to similar to Guangzhou International Finance Center.

When it gets one, it looks like it'll get a nasty case of "Pen Island syndrome". There will be much snickering from anglophone users because of the name "Reform a colon". Sounds rather inappropriate, somehow...

it does in english... but the names comes from Cristobal Colon... actually he was the explorer who found all America... so in that terms the street of this building is Reforma Street across Colon Street (Colon that is the last name of this explores is quite common for streets) so there you go... is the instersection of these 2 streets.

Ugh, another day, another large hotel slated for demolition in the near future. If there is to be a completely new hotel to be incorporated within this "Reforma Colon" complex, it probably won't be in a standalone building, and will, therefore, likely share the same building with offices or residential apartment units.

I have seen large hotels being demolished to make way for smaller ones within mixed-use skyscrapers. An example is the Akasaka Prince Hotel in Tokyo; that made way for a mixed use skyscraper (mainly offices, and that building's new hotel is much smaller).

The Hotel Fiesta Americana Reforma, which is one of the buildings getting demolished to make way for the Reforma Colon project, has over 600 rooms. IMO, it is always sad to see a large hotel gotten rid of in favor of a much smaller one (in spite of the Fiesta Americana Reforma's cheap-looking exterior). But it is a good thing that Mexico City has plenty of large hotels within its area. Sorry if I'm posting this before more specific details on the Reforma Colon's uses become available.
